Assalamualaikum~

I'm back to the beloved country... yes, didn't really go overseas that long~ It was honey-money afterall kan?... :D got stuffs yg i wanted but yg REALLY wanted nada! *boo-hoo* A little update, FINALLY did our POSTWED PHOTOSHOOT and it was faaaabulous!!! Well, I hope it would be..~ Tunggu and lihat saja nanti k?? Hehehe!!

But anyways~, in the matter of hours it'll be 2010! And next Tuesday is the 1st year anniversary of our 'adat bersuruh' Inda sangka ah..? *sigh* More weddings of friends to attend *Alhamdulillah* (Hubby and I can hear some rumour of wedding bells coming along in 2010 *WOO-HOO!* You guys can't hide from us :P :p :P but we can hide from you~~~ ) and the first for 2010 would be my photog's Sanding function. Congrats Ucingitam and wife for the solemnization last 18th December 2009. And insya-Allah we'll make it on the day nanti :D

I know I promised all to talk pasal room renovation, but I believe I did so talked about it last time? So.. feel free to check out the link below ani yeh? Don't wanna flood much of my entry.. so yeah~ :D :D :D Been trying hard to find out how to change "anda mungkin juga meminati" to "you might also like" ... cali sulnya? no? I know we utamakan bahasa Melayu here in Brunei, but this blog is merely random rants and talks about weddings... so if ada orang yg pandai sana atu? or the fiance or hubby tau cemana and what's the cause, please leave me a chat k? TQ~

Lastly, AGAIN!!! SELAMAT TAHUN BARU HIJRAH 1431H dan MASEHI 2010. May next year be a better year for all of us... insya-Allah~

my deco!

Salam... back in my Uni years, me and my friends used to watch this TV show called "Extreme Makeover: HOME Edition". A reality tv show of which the needy gets their house refurbished and we were impressed! Apart from the American Next Top Model.. this too, was another MUST WATCH show for us. Mun d Brunei ada cemani, I want to be part of the team!!! They get everything done in just one week! Workmanshipnya.. phew~ Tiptop! And if dlm "Deko Bersama Eric" he did everything (for a room) in just one day.. this one, they did the WHOLE house, 1 week, demolished and rebuilt! How cool is that..?? Ofcourse, the house is a typical 'Wisteria Lane' type lh ah. Wood. :D And interior deconya... woooooooowwww! I bcame a big fan of interior deco eversince.

Still learning bits and pieces though. But for my room, I just follow my guts! *lol* Remember my stairway deco? I did that on the eve of my nikah and thank God!! Everyone loves it, in fact, it's STILL hanging on our staircase up until now *thumbsup*

• The very first thing I did with my room was to draw the layout on a piece of paper. i.e arrangements of bed, wardrobe dressing table.. perhaps for some of you, maybe d mana kn menyimpan tv.. access to balcony or maybe ur ensuite bathroom.
  

• Secondly, the choice of bedset ... which do you prefer? choice of colour? dark / light?

• Third comes flooring (tile, laminated, carpeting) and wall paint...my personal view would be just slightly lighter than the furniture (for the whole room) and any total contrast colour as the feature wall, bearing in mind the feature wall IS the room colour theme! A feature wall bleh jua we use wallpaper.. nowadays, there's a wiiiiiiiiiideeeeeeeeeee range of wallpapers offered by interior decorating companies here. So it's your choice~

• Fourth, my curtain and bedsheets / cover etc. took me several visits to actually confirm my colour and choice of fabric as well as design. Believe me, it was hard for us to come up with simple design (for the bed header) yet look elegant and somewhat different than others... Talk about being fussy! *blush* We spent like an hour plus (on our 3rd visit..yes, THIRD..just for the bed header cos curtain i want it straight and simple saja) to actually confirm the design .. atupun based on her (Sunil's owner) pileS of magazines and curtain decoration books. Rambang mata ani wah!

• Fifth is the lighting. You either go for a chic chandelier or drop lights.. well, ofcourse depending on the design of your ceiling. My case? A 26 years old living room chandelier really did the trick. It's been in the living room before i was born and now finally, I put it into good use (another reason why i chose the vintage bedset) *lol*

• Lastly, simplicity deco was my aim. Just bought myself a rug, side table lamp, dressing table runner and artificial 'white roses in a pot' hehehe following my guts? Yes! Atuuuu saja my room decoration.. not much.

I know some bride-to-bes love their rooms to be decorated with fresh flower bouquet on you side table, on the bed.. dressing table and some petals on the bed, again, it is YOUR choice~ :) I chose not to have all those.. ada pun, had I have the time masa atu, it would probably just be the petals.. hehehe but then again, knowing my little nieces and nephews, so.. better I skip that option as well..

A few examples I looked through for my room but only took bits as ideas with improvisation ofcourse~

a bit plain on the feature wall..again I'd say, tampal a few framed pictures above the bed if nda mau pakai kelambu~ ;)

I was running through the checklist for my wedding preps today...

• Kursus Nikah - got the 4 chops already!! Yippee~~ (the chops would be the attendance chops) Was a very interesting course indeed.. *smiles*
  
• Borang for Jurunikah - to get my Aunt's help with that since she works @ Pej. Ugama.
• Pelamin - design(s) decided, need to choose lapik nikah and dian 4
• Invitation cards - ready for distribution, process commence next week (after Tuesday)
• Bedset - to get them delivered this Friday a.m. cos I hav to do fittings for bju nikah, bebadak and Muleh 7 in the p.m
• Flooring - done~~~ lawa kli ah!!! I like~~ I thank YE20 for this.. *thumbsup*

and yes, the finishing touch of my laminated flooring... At first, Mum was not happy about the chosen colour but now she's alright :)

• Baju (Sanding) - killer!!! Embroidery done, manik and jahit belum.. tpi keren kan~ *lol* Even dear fiancé 's one pebaik th nda berembroidered pun the beading works looks gorgeous sudah! ---- **note to my ladies, SILVER ah!!!! (tho I know they will change it regardless *lol* look what happened last tym when one of us got married.. kana suruh maroon jdi warna gold hahahahha that was funny~)

• Photog and Make-Up - confirmed, pretty nervous with my MuA tho cos I've never seen her work for weddings before but I think she can do well. A sister's word is worth trusting, right? Cos my sis yg recommend hehehehhe Remember dear.. ur work will be posted up here~
  

... so far so good I must say~ another wedding to attend this weekend... but this time, with dear fiancé :) :) :)

... just my rants

A short update from me so as to tell everyone that yes, I'm still sane. Preparation is going on smooth *Alhamdulillah* dearest fiancé has gotten 3/4 of his Invitation cards ready, reason being... the 1/4 got smudged? For whatever reason I don't know.. prolly ada ink spillage arah the printer (thinking positive here) For his side of the family senang sikit cos got list sudah from my future sis-in-law's guest list (her big day's end of the month..) buyuk kan? Tinggal mikirkan name lists for his friends saja lagi...

As for mine? they're ready to be distributed sudah.. hehe~ My closest friends have got theirs' and a few of my juniors... still need to give some prolly by this weekend *Insya-Allah* tinggal sikit2 saja kan menambah2 and yes, the office... will get the invitation cards out early July nanti insya-Allah... I am still thinking of the pelamin theme for our events.. prolly will use the same pelamin saja for the 3 events, play with the lighting and deco saja... amacam? should be ok, no?... pening, pening, peningggg~~~~

I will most definitely go over to my tailor's boutique this p.m to check on things.. oh yes, which reminds me.. I need to call the furniture to arrange for furniture delivery. since flooring will be done this Friday... payah bh, my only free times are Fridays and Sundays... macam haaaaaaiiihhhh~~~ I have to check my baju lgi, confirm pelamin lgi, Dad will nego my Sanding day catering this Saturday so that should be ok... for Nikah and bebadak catering..it'll be catering kg saja... makanan kg kli ah nyum2!!!

My room.. I need to, clean my 'chandelier' before the furniture comes in (mesti berkilat kilau2an... it's a 24 yrs old chandelier...classy~!) sudah atu baru th I get the furniture delivered then installation of bedroom curtains and bedsheets.. would want them properly fixed into my room latest 3 weeks before the big day .. yes (just to ventilate ..bau baru~~) I want my room bau air freshener saja or maybe some fresh flowers nanti ah... ?? hmmmm we'll see... ada saja caranya tu! Yatah macam now.. it's mid-June sudah.. I have to get all those done in 3 weeks.. nope inda banyak masa??

Delivery for sanding doorgifts was yesterday.. yatah family room kami packed with boxes masani... macam org baru pindah rumah th jua usulnya *lol* my oh my..... 'factory processing time th lgi tu.. but that'll be in July lh.. *sigh* speak of which need to apply for leave ni nanti.. I'm gonna take a loooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggg break.... don't know what the plan cos everyweekend of my leave atu mmg my wedding functions saja from Nikah aaaaall the way to Muleh 7 hari... so probably will definitely try to squeeze in some short honeymoon-ing in between. When there's a will, there's a way kan???

Thursday
- FINALLY!!! I get to see the samples for my timber flooring... good thing I attended the CLEX exhibition @ ICC last time. Dapat jua special promotional price.. *sigh* The thing is material belum lgi masuk Brunei, so... have to wait for the materials to come in and then pay deposits and then suruh install~ *yay!!* By then prolly it's June.. and my curtains pun siap dh kli tu *hopefully*..so can ask them to pasang jua... mid-June, my furniture will come in.. or maybe end of June?

Friday
- Again.. FINALLY!!! Got my invitation card sorted out. Paid my deposits and Insya-Allah will be ready in saay... 2 weeks time? At least by early June nanti bleh sort out the invitation cards.. siapa yg d bagi full.. siapa yang inda.. to print out the guests names lagi... boh mcm busy June ani??

Sunday
- Celebrated Mother's Day with the family. My sis lanja and dear fiancé was invited. Decided to do my shopping for Kain Baju Melayu and Sinjangs for Hantaran and Alhamdulillah.. got them all at a very good and discounted prices!! ;) cool eh? And uniforms for the Gents in the family pun me dpt dah... so, that's sorted out~ *thumbsup* Shopping mode was definitely ON!! Hahaha.. rupanya Nazmi had a special promo for Mother's Day..patutlh semua 30-60% discountnya~ Got a B$133 kain spasang for just $50!!! Mana nda dear fiancé mcm.. 'Bah bali tia~ for my Hantaran..' hehehe iskiness!!!!

- Wedding rings are ready and so went to check it out jua today~ Lawaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! *sigh* I was in the 'moment' d kdai td atu... hehehe so we ask them to keep it safe for us until someday near to our wedding day :) :) '.. then we'll keep it forever..'

- We've the chance to go to this flower boutique at the Centerpoint (yg d belakang) Apparentlyyyyy... they have services for hantaran deco AS WELL AS modern concept pelamins! A little suggestion for those yg belum cnfirmkan their pelamins and hantarans k? But for hantaran..gangsa nda plg ada tu.. just hantaran deco and rental of pelamins and deco for halls / houses and bedrooms! ;)

As for me, everything is going on well and yes, well sorted.. mudah2an jua June/July follow-up sessions nanti going on fine.. insya-Allah *amin* Can't wait to see the finished products of my baju(s) hehe...

Maroon red and black.. that'll be my font colour for the invitation card and it's been decided! Dad pun ok with it..so yeh, m just gonna stick to that. Had a discussion with Mummy tadi, she suggested yg inserts for Jemputan Nikah should be different from Jemputan Berdzikir.. "If colournya lain..tau org it's for different function.." hmmm au ah so very true~ I have yet to give my confirmation to Ezy Printing and then pay my deposit... (which is 50% of the total cost) waaa!!

My room extension is almost done, well- i can say 60% dh lh.. they've done the brickworks for the wall, prolly will commence plastering up the external brickwall pretty soon~ (dalam siap sudah) My sis and Dad has chosen the wall paint for my room, it's gonna be Barley White (some sort of creamish like..it's the safest colour anyway..) For a small room better pakai colour yg light so as to make the room seems 'spacious' plus yeh furniture warna cream jua.. *lol* yth, I'll add abit contrast to the room with the flooring and curtains nanti.... Insya-Allah by middle of next month, siap th my room ani ;) Can't waaaiiiit!~!~!~

Oh, oooohhhhh!!! Speak of which, I need a topper or maybe a comforter for my mattress..dimana bisai membali ah?? And possibility a duvet.. need to discuss this with Maya frm Sunil Emporium, are they gonna make me a duvet OR duvet cover saja. I'll note this one down in my notebook.. ;)

*phew* Less than 4 months away..tick,tock,tick,tock!! I've already booked myself slots for the Pre-Nikah Course.. it's a month duration and the course is once a week for 4 wks.. :) *yay* I sure hope I don't forget my timetable, once lupa... gerenti hav to come the next month lgi (but ofcourse for the missed session only) NOT advisable, k!! Hehe ait then peeps.. til nxt time.

Yesterday evening, me and dear fiancé decided to drop by @ Sunil's Emporium to get a quotation for my bedroom curtains and bedsheets. Yes, yes decided to get them custom made and I prefer to stick to where my family members selalu buat their curtains n sofa upholstery, trusts their workmanship ;) For those yg staying either in Bandar, Tutong or KB (I'm sure some KBians prefer to get their's done in A-Miri-Ka), here's a list of places I could recommend to everyone :

• Fabrica @ Gadong Properties..lots and lots of choices there.. carpeting pun nice
• Hock Ling @ 1st Floor Qlap Plaza
• Apollo Curtains & Carpets @ Kiulap OR Batu 1
• Haska @ Urairah Complex
• Maya Silk Emporium @ Pandan 7 KB, Petani Mall Tutong..pun bsai, the price quoted is for materials sja ne.. sama like Sunil's Emporium.
• a few other shops @ Delima Sq. and @ Regent Sq. Kiulap which hehehe I forgot the names.. *sorry*

So we went to and have a look through with the materials to actually match it with our modern classic concept and Alhamdulillah.. got what we want~ as for designs, kami mau simple saja so na hassle but if you lots can just drop by to the shops mentioned above and they can show you their sample and masterpiece.. hehehe as for me, I did looked up on Google for some designs just to get the idea but yalah.. terlabih 'the most' krg payah jua~ Sunday they'll be coming over to my place to get the measurement for my windows hehehe.... I just ask them to take their time lah membuat, my room ani under renovation jua at the moment ..soo yah..~

Few pointers for those yg kan prepare their rooms :

1. Wall = paint (self or contractor) / wallpaper
2. Floor = tiles / carpeting / laminating
3. Bedsets and Wardrobe = custom-made / bought
4. Curtains = ready-made / custom-made
5. Decorations = self / $$$
6. Lightings
7. Ceilings

I decided to not change my ceilings n lighting except maybe bgi side table lamp sja, imagine early 1980s chandelier in my room.. cool kan? *lol* as for the floor, Mum keeps on emphasizing on laminated timber floor, so that'll be my next agenda. I did manage to get a good offer price msa CLEX @ ICC last weekend so I might give them a call while my just-a-mtre-xtension room renovation is in progress.

Decided not to do any wallpapering, although I had in mind to install wallpanels for soundproofing but..naaahhh~ wastage for me...ada my friend sorang atu plg tu teluan iski~ nda smpt tukar cadar tia lgi~~ *inside joke*lol* But yeh, baik guna my ka-ching!! for something else... banar nda?

Had a view of my invitation card draft tdi.. not baaaad I must say, though ada minor errors lh td so I guess better me view lg nxt week and the quoted price, acceptable! :) Alhamdulillah~I hav yet to choose the font colour for me invitation card. My card is metallic cream, so shall the writing be ... dark brown? dark blue? maroon? purple? green?

Trip to K.L ~ booked

Yesterday, I booked my tickets to K.L. ... yes, will be flying sometime early May, after my cousin's wedding! Me, mummy and #1 lah yg pegi this time around. Not sure where we gonna stay nanti but I hope it's just somewhere @ Masjid India.

I've been struck by kusut-ness due to the invitation cards, yes, still! I hope the gal e-mailed me quick, I'd want my confirmation by end of this week. Then, since takut pisang berbuah dua kali, better I ask her to print a copy dlu, scan and emailed them to me.. need to make sure that it is readable this time around.... (#2's advice)

I bought my bed set dah last week during the Da Vinci Collection Charity Sale.. :) :) I kinda like the design so just immediately beli lah, and yesterday what did I found out? Arah one of the wedding pics I Surfed on to... sama ani wah furniture kami! *lol* But definitely will try to make mine look slightly different.. bila mendeco2 lah tu nanti ah?

Dad has confirmed with me to pacahkan dinding my room and extend sikit (kira close up my veranda) yes.. nda jua begunakan beranda atu.. so.. hrm, I sortof agree with that idea... meaning, have to move out from my room lah ni nanti... dudidudidudidu~ #2 has offered me to sleepover arh her room.. we'll see lah yea, but then again, I did that sometimes ..especially masa air-cond inda baik hehehehe so yeah, moving out from room - to be implemented! Dimana tah my cat tido ne? poor little guy...

Apanah?!! The wedding rings.. confirm dh!! We asked them to keep hold of it until a week b4 our wedding. For safe keeping :) Tak berani lah nak simpan, not before the wedding.. tau th jua lgi girls like me. Inda tahan tu..gernti kan 'testing' pakai saja *lol* Lain lgi yg gatal tangan tu... Na'uzubillah~

I had a thought of building in a customized wardrobe for my room few days back, that's why today on our way to Bandar, yes..dear fiancé picked me up 2day~ we stopped by at Zalin Woods @ Home Centre Kg. Bunut, to see how much they can quote for a built-in wardrobe. Ganya soalnya lagi..to buy a bed, only a bed, yg d sukai ani not that cheap jua... Must have a Plan B for my room makeover ni. Dear mum has been suggesting to put laminated flooring for my room, need to consider the price of carpeting and laminating the floor. Haih~ They say if laminate floor, nanti2 when with kids.. durg tegugur kah apa nda sakit.. BUT nda licin kah tu?? soalan lgi tu kan.. I too am prone to getting myself hurt tu.. so, I guess carpeting th sja.. both of my sis buat catu..ok jua :) :)

I have two concepts for my room. Either this one.....

modern with a built in sliding cabinet~

OR

without the posts lah ah...

or something like the above... :) should be fine right? As long as it's within the specified budget ;) and when ada new bedset nanti baru th bleh think of painting / wallpapering the room... and then curtains n bedsheets + duvet (ani buy saja ni.. curtains yeah need to get that one done jua... 2 months before the wedding should b alright kli eh? But wait.. the wedding atu dkt dgn bulan Puasa.. ok kh tu ah, I'll try and have a go nanti ..AFTER K.L trip!!!
