It's the Pazzion!!

Honestly, I love the heel shown in this advert... very bridal like don'tcha think? I actually grabbed the pic from ranoadidas.com (yes, yes guilty ol' me..) but one can only admire the heel soooo much!! I really need to drop by to the place one day~ Watchout ShoeLovers, I see a competition now...

Another competition I see in town would be... Firoz Jaya and YMRM, with the opening of the new Firoz Jaya Textile Palace in Kg. Delima.. I'd say, the laces are quite a *thumbsup* but ofcourse nothing beats the idea of shopping for laces at Gulati's, Euro Moda, Jakel or someplace else like.. ermmm, Dubai or Bandung, Indonesia! *sigh* The idea made me feel like I wanted to get one myself... I'm thinking peach?? Maybe.. just maybe~

Anyhoots, as I was surfing through the Net, I've found something informative to share with you ladies... have a go and read this...

When you begin planning your wedding, one of the first decisions you will have to make is what colours to choose. This decision has to be made before you start thinking about your wedding flowers, bridesmaid dresses and overall reception style. Here are 7 colour choices that will be top of the list for 2011 weddings.

1: Red Hot Cherry with Luscious Lime: This may seem an odd mix when you first hear these colours said together, and although it is a bold statement, when these colours are combined right they create a striking impact on any wedding reception.

2: Coral and Grey: Beautifully subtle. These colours are going to be a big hit for weddings abroad in 2011. This mixture of soft, muted colours combine to produce an exquisite wedding theme sure to wow all who attend.

3: Hot Pink: Vibrant hot pink began growing in popularity in weddings a few years ago and there seems to be no halting this eye catching trend. Balance the pink well with sharp white and dazzling silver to have a show stopping reception.

4: Chocolate Mocha Browns with Soft Blush Pinks: Chocolate browns and pinks have been a very popular colour combination in recent years with the brown being the base colour. These colours create a relaxed setting that is modern and fashionable. A chic choice for any of today’s couples.

5: Tiffany Blue with Pale Aqua: Tiffany Blue is a very elegant colour, classic yet modern. Teaming this with light aqua shades and whites will make your wedding cool and refreshing, crisp and contemporary. If you want to add another colour to really create an impact try some bright green floral in your bouquet and centrepieces.

6: Shades of Orange: Oranges in all shades have always been a very popular choice for autumn and fall weddings. However in 2011 orange is going to be a hot colour throughout the entire year. Orange can be used in many ways. When paired with browns and golds it creates a warm sophisticated reception, however team it with spring greens and you have yourself a fantastically fresh, contemporary style.

7: Black is the new…Black: Elegance and sophistication are always created through the use of black. A crisp black and white combination is a sure fire hit to creating a stunning wedding reception. Add in some sparkle and silver through your accessories for that the icing on the cake.

Mother's Day and more... :D

Salam all...

First and foremost,

WISHING ALL MOTHER'S OUT THERE and MOTHER-TO-BEs a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.
Dearest MUM and MUM-IN-LAW (hehe first time ni~), I love you both no matter what! Both are special in their own ways and it feels good to be loved by you both. Insya-Allah, I will try to become a better daughter (everyone's not perfect) and will always pray for your good health and blessing from Allah S.W.T *Amin*

Secondly,

SELAMAT PENGANTIN BARU to all the couples who officially tied the knot last Friday and is having their Sanding today. But ofcourse, there will be cases where the Nikah is on Sunday as well (like ours hehehehe) Wishing everyone a happy blissful wedded life now and Hereafter. Insya-Allah.

Since everyone in the chatbox are hot up with the discussion of planning your wedding events, I just can't help but putting up the next article (though it was meant to be post up next week..) I'm like, nevermind, there's always something new everyday right?

PENGERTIAN WALIMATUL ‘ARUS

PENSYARI‘ATAN WALIMATUL ‘URUS

· Sabda Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam:

Maksudnya:
“’Abdul Rahman bin ‘Awf melakukan perkahwinan, maka Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam bersabda kepadanya: Hendaklah anda mengadakan walimah walaupun dengan seekor kambing.”
(Al-Hadith)

· Sabda Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam:

Maksudnya:

"Kata Nabi s.a.w. kepada Abdul Rahman bin Auf sewaktu beliau berkahwin, hendaklah kamu mengadakan kenduri kahwin sekalipun hanya menyembelih seekor kambing".

HUKUM MENGHADIRINYA

To summarize the text above, when you plan your wedding. Do plan it wisely. Meaning to say, there's alot of things we need to consider for our wedding religiously, economically, families and even our own self-righteous. Here's another Fatwa by our Mufti regarding weddings, of which I referred to last time. Click HERE.

N/B : I've been missing quite a few posts since I last promised to keep up with putting Hadiths at the very end of every entry. Apologies for that.. Guess, I better start it back. Yes? :) Insya-Allah~

Until next time,
Bride

my deco!

Salam... back in my Uni years, me and my friends used to watch this TV show called "Extreme Makeover: HOME Edition". A reality tv show of which the needy gets their house refurbished and we were impressed! Apart from the American Next Top Model.. this too, was another MUST WATCH show for us. Mun d Brunei ada cemani, I want to be part of the team!!! They get everything done in just one week! Workmanshipnya.. phew~ Tiptop! And if dlm "Deko Bersama Eric" he did everything (for a room) in just one day.. this one, they did the WHOLE house, 1 week, demolished and rebuilt! How cool is that..?? Ofcourse, the house is a typical 'Wisteria Lane' type lh ah. Wood. :D And interior deconya... woooooooowwww! I bcame a big fan of interior deco eversince.

Still learning bits and pieces though. But for my room, I just follow my guts! *lol* Remember my stairway deco? I did that on the eve of my nikah and thank God!! Everyone loves it, in fact, it's STILL hanging on our staircase up until now *thumbsup*
  • The very first thing I did with my room was to draw the layout on a piece of paper. i.e arrangements of bed, wardrobe dressing table.. perhaps for some of you, maybe d mana kn menyimpan tv.. access to balcony or maybe ur ensuite bathroom.
  • Secondly, the choice of bedset ... which do you prefer? choice of colour? dark / light?
  • Third comes flooring (tile, laminated, carpeting) and wall paint...my personal view would be just slightly lighter than the furniture (for the whole room) and any total contrast colour as the feature wall, bearing in mind the feature wall IS the room colour theme! A feature wall bleh jua we use wallpaper.. nowadays, there's a wiiiiiiiiiideeeeeeeeeee range of wallpapers offered by interior decorating companies here. So it's your choice~
  • Fourth, my curtain and bedsheets / cover etc. took me several visits to actually confirm my colour and choice of fabric as well as design. Believe me, it was hard for us to come up with simple design (for the bed header) yet look elegant and somewhat different than others... Talk about being fussy! *blush* We spent like an hour plus (on our 3rd visit..yes, THIRD..just for the bed header cos curtain i want it straight and simple saja) to actually confirm the design .. atupun based on her (Sunil's owner) pileS of magazines and curtain decoration books. Rambang mata ani wah!
  • Fifth is the lighting. You either go for a chic chandelier or drop lights.. well, ofcourse depending on the design of your ceiling. My case? A 26 years old living room chandelier really did the trick. It's been in the living room before i was born and now finally, I put it into good use (another reason why i chose the vintage bedset) *lol*

  • Lastly, simplicity deco was my aim. Just bought myself a rug, side table lamp, dressing table runner and artificial 'white roses in a pot' hehehe following my guts? Yes! Atuuuu saja my room decoration.. not much.

I know some bride-to-bes love their rooms to be decorated with fresh flower bouquet on you side table, on the bed.. dressing table and some petals on the bed, again, it is YOUR choice~ :) I chose not to have all those.. ada pun, had I have the time masa atu, it would probably just be the petals.. hehehe but then again, knowing my little nieces and nephews, so.. better I skip that option as well..

A few examples I looked through for my room but only took bits as ideas with improvisation ofcourse~

loving this one except the lamp..

... above the bed needs something..but impressive simple touch..
a bit plain on the feature wall..again I'd say, tampal a few framed pictures above the bed if nda mau pakai kelambu~ ;)
BUT my utmost reference would be MARTHA STEWART's... she's impressive! Please click HERE to surf onto her site~ LOTS of tips there.. design bilik2nya pun LAWA~

Till nxt time peeps... Insya-Allah~

Friday updates!

Yesterday evening, me and dear fiancé decided to drop by @ Sunil's Emporium to get a quotation for my bedroom curtains and bedsheets. Yes, yes decided to get them custom made and I prefer to stick to where my family members selalu buat their curtains n sofa upholstery, trusts their workmanship ;) For those yg staying either in Bandar, Tutong or KB (I'm sure some KBians prefer to get their's done in A-Miri-Ka), here's a list of places I could recommend to everyone :
  • Fabrica @ Gadong Properties..lots and lots of choices there.. carpeting pun nice
  • Hock Ling @ 1st Floor Qlap Plaza
  • Apollo Curtains & Carpets @ Kiulap OR Batu 1
  • Haska @ Urairah Complex
  • Maya Silk Emporium @ Pandan 7 KB, Petani Mall Tutong..pun bsai, the price quoted is for materials sja ne.. sama like Sunil's Emporium.
  • a few other shops @ Delima Sq. and @ Regent Sq. Kiulap which hehehe I forgot the names.. *sorry*
So we went to and have a look through with the materials to actually match it with our modern classic concept and Alhamdulillah.. got what we want~ as for designs, kami mau simple saja so na hassle but if you lots can just drop by to the shops mentioned above and they can show you their sample and masterpiece.. hehehe as for me, I did looked up on Google for some designs just to get the idea but yalah.. terlabih 'the most' krg payah jua~ Sunday they'll be coming over to my place to get the measurement for my windows hehehe.... I just ask them to take their time lah membuat, my room ani under renovation jua at the moment ..soo yah..~

Few pointers for those yg kan prepare their rooms :
  1. Wall = paint (self or contractor) / wallpaper
  2. Floor = tiles / carpeting / laminating
  3. Bedsets and Wardrobe = custom-made / bought
  4. Curtains = ready-made / custom-made
  5. Decorations = self / $$$
  6. Lightings
  7. Ceilings
I decided to not change my ceilings n lighting except maybe bgi side table lamp sja, imagine early 1980s chandelier in my room.. cool kan? *lol* as for the floor, Mum keeps on emphasizing on laminated timber floor, so that'll be my next agenda. I did manage to get a good offer price msa CLEX @ ICC last weekend so I might give them a call while my just-a-mtre-xtension room renovation is in progress.

Decided not to do any wallpapering, although I had in mind to install wallpanels for soundproofing but..naaahhh~ wastage for me...ada my friend sorang atu plg tu teluan iski~ nda smpt tukar cadar tia lgi~~ *inside joke*lol* But yeh, baik guna my ka-ching!! for something else... banar nda?

Had a view of my invitation card draft tdi.. not baaaad I must say, though ada minor errors lh td so I guess better me view lg nxt week and the quoted price, acceptable! :) Alhamdulillah~I hav yet to choose the font colour for me invitation card. My card is metallic cream, so shall the writing be ... dark brown? dark blue? maroon? purple? green?

Which 1 shall it be..

The Hantarans....

Right, time for reviewing checklist :
  1. Borang Nikah - sent to Mahkamah Sya'riah (under process~)
  2. Borang Kursus - on its way...
  3. Baju(s) Pengantin - OK
  4. Catering - OK..so far.. (Dad's handling it for me)
  5. Campur - Mum's, #1 and #2's to handle
  6. Room - moving out this Sunday, work commence Monday
  7. Bedset - Bought! (tpi suruh simpan dlu arh warehouse)
  8. Curtain & Carpeting - to be negotiated...
  9. Photog - confirmed
  10. Make-Up artist - confirmed
  11. Invitation cards - like i said, that'll be tomorrow...
  12. Hantarans - bought sudah.. tinggal menambah2 lgi if ada yg berkenan~ hehehe
That's half almost done *thumbsup* I have yet to consider the idea of decorating my hantarans myself (with the help of #1 and #2 ofcourse~) OR just send my stuffs for hantaran deco~ which is cheaper, perhaps?? Can anyone reckon?

I did try to buy meself a set of materials for 1 deco, macam costly kan~ I guess it depends on how you want your decorations to be... ALSO theme, the theme colour atu yg penting tu..!Once u've set the colour.. you can go for buying all the materials associated with the theme colour. Plenty to choose from but you have to get some infos on where you guys kan pinjam gangsa & lapik.

As for design, I have surfed on a few lawa-ness hantaran deco... there's just soooooo much style that you could go for, I'm like, creative jua bisdia ani!!? They either use fresh flowers, bunga stokin, bunga dip (dont knw y they called it 'dip'), crystals, gold or silver plated flowers or the basic one, bunga plastik! Hehehe :) That's just for flowers ey... in addition, you might wanna choose to use the silver / gold boxes, wooden trays, rattan boxes / baskets / trays or just merely the styling foam. Mana2 aja lh u wanna pick... :) Even me myself pun rambang mata lehnya... macam.. ntah lah! *sigh*

Here's one site that says it all, MERISIK GALLERY (Malaysiian though.. but it can give us some pointers kan?) Di Brunei, I cam across 2 local blogs specialising on hantarans so far... mayb ada lgi tpi blum kejumpahan. A few of the wedding boutiques in Brunei pun ada yg offer such services. So it's up to us. We could :

  • rent dulang & lapik then deco sendiri
  • rent dulang & lapik & accessories then deco sendiri
  • rent dulang & lapik & buy accessories and deco elsewhere
  • rent dulang & lapik & accessories + deco @ a particular shop
  • rent dulang & accessories, buy lapik and deco @ shop
  • rent dulang & accessories, buy lapik and deco sendiri ...
hmmmm now that's a lot of options... *lol* mana bisai?
