Assalamualaikum all...

Alhamdulillah, I FINALLY got the chance to write up an entry (or two) :) Juggling life between wife, mother, daughter and student is  pretty challenging, semoga dipermudahkan segalanya *Amin*

A happy new year 2016 to all my dearest readers / followers / anyone in between. A new year always come with a new year's revolution. What are yours? Mine is insya-Allah to build up a hobby based on what I happened to loooooove most! Well - this blog la! Need to be more rajin with filling in my entries.

Inda terasa right? Now it's coming to the middle of the month and I haven't update you guys on our "Mission I-M-Possible!"

The two days events ran smoothly, Alhamdulillah, as I said earlier, niat baik kalau Allah restui, insya-Allah akan dipermudahkan. It was a very hectic weekend for all commitee members. All juggling between work and planning then execution. Kinda miss the commotion though *lol* but yes, this shows that it is definitely possible to plan a wedding in one month!!! ONE MONTH!! I am still not fully recovered from the frenzy.

So here's the vendor list :

5. MuA = Dewi D Diva 
6. Juruhias Pengantin Laki : Nikah (dearest Mom) , Berbedak (Old friend of mine - Mahadzir), Sanding (Groom sendiri saja..i think a little touch up by the MuA)

9. Tausyeh = don't know but I guess it's for the best cos they made a mistake of arriving late and leaving early (belum lagi abis acara!)
10. Hantaran = DIY by my cousin (I wanted to help out but was abit uptight that week so yeah.. had to back off from this one and only did touching up saja)
11. Doorgifts =Local products (all packed in bags and stickers customade from Ezy Printing) Yassin & Tasbih from Simply Sayang.
12. Wedding Cake = Taste On Tray
13. Custom water bottle labels = yours truly :) , for VIP table settings aaaand nikah doorgifts

weekend gathering and labellings...

Assalamualaikum,

Despite the bz-ness we have managed to arrange for a family gathering (which we seldomly do except for tahlil and such) and was very happy that we have managed to finish packing all  the doorgifts for acara berbedak and sanding reception.

If you read my previous posts back when I planned for my wedding, yes, I loved to add some DIY touch to weddings.. so for my dear cousin, what I did was to custom water bottle labels for her. The bottles  they want to put on the VIP tables, and to be given for the tausyeh and dzikir group as well.

Then it got me thinking, did this before for birthdays..and again for my cousins' wedding. Why not make this thing something I can provide for everyone!!!! Not just for weddings but also for other functions (Birthdays, Mandi Belawat, Weddings... you name it!) Would you want our team to do this for you? I'm serious ne ah  (Please say yes... and if you do, can email me : ann.j1010@gmail.com)  It would be an honour to prep water bottles for your functions.

Minimum order : 24 bottles (300ml or 600ml or both) and our service includes, purchase, labelling and delivery (f.o.c for Brunei-Muara district and additional charges for Tutong dan Belait District) I have yet to think of a way to cater for people in Temburong.. any ideas?? I can only think of arranging meet ups di tambing.

Anyhoooooots, we're all set for the big day.... which is in 2 weeks time. Semoga dipermudahkan segala urusan.

Assalamualaikum,,,

Exactly 2 weeks before the big day! I do hope my cousin sorted out her bajus and accessories sudah... *bitenails* We gave her the courtesy to handle this herself cos yalah.. she needs to go for the fitting and all kan?

My aunt and younger cousins are busy putting names on the invitation card. Kudos to her actually for being able to narrow down our invitation list from 700+ names to just around 300!? Aahhh-maaaaaa-zzzziiiiinnnggg!! LikeI said in previous posts, niat baik insya-Allah dipermudahkan.

Our family gathering for doorgifts packaging will be this coming Sunday. Between that day and today, I have to run errands, complete my field  work and meet up with my supervisors (please oh please let them go easy on me #overreactingalittle )

Assalamualaikum all...

It has beena busy busy week for dear 'ol me. Juggling with my field work, exams and be the so-called wedding planner for my dear Kaka.

Would like to express my gratitude to all those involve in the team and somehow, felt very grateful with the existence of social media aaaand Whatsapp! Proud to announced to all, that WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED ALMOST 90% of the wedding preps. Believe it or not?!! We made custom invitation cards, bought all the doorgifts (and even had one customade for her solemnization ceremony nanti), booked a hall, mosque, we managed to booked her dream pelamin, caterings for both events are all sorted, walkie talkies, tausyeh, dzikir group... photogs, videographers yeh, well basically everything lah! *patsmeselfontheback* Give us a big hand of applause!! So yes, anyone wishing to seek help for their upcoming wedding is very the most welcome to contact me if you wish at ann.j1010@gmail.com 

I have something coming up in 2016 and I can't wait... Semoga dipermudahkan segala urusan dan beroleh keberkatan jua dalam menjayakannya nanti... *Amin* 

Alhamdulillah for everything lah... you see, bila sudah ada niat kan kahwin atu, better disegerakan and insya-Allah, dipermudahkan segalanya. Some may want to customade their attire... customade this and that but yeah- that's up to the individual. Nowadays, banyak sudah yang lawa2 the songket and everything. So if you're like the type, #justgoaheadwiththeweddingandbedonewithit ? It's much easier to rent it out. Much cheaper and cost savings! Oh, now THAT reminds me that I need to update the excel file on budgetting I downloaded years ago when I got married. My dear cousin have yet to decide on her bajus, accessories and MuA (managed to get only one.. well- she doesnt have a choice here...ramai MuA booked all December! Ani pun kira lucky jua ne, I doooo hoped she hired her.

Got our pakaian sekayu sent to Minah for tailoring (honestly- I don't know dimana di Bandar ani to do tailoring yang bisai... sent one to Minah Exquisute and fell in love with their workmanship) Bought the boy;s kain baju melayu (we have yet to send these for  tailoring coooossss, our usual tailor inda lagi ada di BN, yatah.. mcm everything is new to us ni this 2015 and here we are still juggling with our Bandar life since January..tau2 sudah tia the end of the year #masabergerakpantas

It's the Pazzion!!

Honestly, I love the heel shown in this advert... very bridal like don'tcha think? I actually grabbed the pic from ranoadidas.com (yes, yes guilty ol' me..) but one can only admire the heel soooo much!! I really need to drop by to the place one day~ Watchout ShoeLovers, I see a competition now...

Another competition I see in town would be... Firoz Jaya and YMRM, with the opening of the new Firoz Jaya Textile Palace in Kg. Delima.. I'd say, the laces are quite a *thumbsup* but ofcourse nothing beats the idea of shopping for laces at Gulati's, Euro Moda, Jakel or someplace else like.. ermmm, Dubai or Bandung, Indonesia! *sigh* The idea made me feel like I wanted to get one myself... I'm thinking peach?? Maybe.. just maybe~

Assalamualaikum all...

As expected yes, I have been neglected this blog since hmmm November? Mood cuti.. Bercuti aannnd semuanya cuti! And what a holiday it has been.... Hoping for a blissful year 1432 Hijriah and 2011 that holds sooo many interesting adventures, up and downs for some and ofcourse, the awaited weddings on 11.1.11, 1.11.11, 11.11.11 and not forgetting 20.11.2011. But then again, those are all just dates right? Masani, mostly orang tunggu availabilities of halls saja. Hehehe, ah well.. I know little on the trend these days. It's time to get back to my feet! *yes!*

To add, this upcoming Chinese New Year will be the Year of the Rabbit, and like all rodents.. they reproduce fast! So.. will there be an extra boost in our population this year? Especially with the increase in maternity leave from 56 days to 105 days~ *gasp* And iskiness too, who knows this could be my year (YE20 and Miss83 as well~) Do'a and usaha *insya-Allah*

Yohjah : congratulations in advance from all of us in here. Do update us from time to time yeah... it has been awhile... Lamaaaaa dah nda betukar story!

As for me? Well- my job has been keeping me very the hectic since early 2010. Asal balik rumah confirm ngalih, all I did was just laaaazzeee around, watch t.v.. and perkara2 yang berkaitan dengannya... Last December had an urut session with a bidan, kena usai2 jualah peranakan ani.. slight pain but I'm taking it positively, at least I know everything's OK now :) Alhamdulillah

WISHLIST this year, is to launch a 'branch'-ing blog.. something to add the spice up ;) I just need to get all the layout and plans ready.. *hopes for the very best*

To all my bride-to-bes, brides, mum-to-bes and others (too much to mention), I would like to ask for an apology for 1431H /2010 have been a slow year for this blog and if ada salah and silap in some of my facts or kata2 harap dimaafkan. May 1432H / 2011 be a success to all of us insya-Allah~

...don't know what to put

Assalamualaikum ladiesss~~~

How is everyone?? I hope everything goes well... Like I said, October's a busy month for me hence the slowness with my updates. My internet's a no-no at my place so basically, I can only go online at the in-laws. Two weeks ago, I was away for a short working trip. It was exhausting but nonetheless, 'memorable' in a way~ *lol* Only my friend J knows the story...

But before I flew off, I did go to the Wedding Exhibition (think it was on Friday) and guess what? I was surprised that not many B2Bs were there. In fact, both me and Mr. A plang kna pikir kan kahwin~ And not to disappoint them, we went on and played the act! Hehehehe! Sometimes it does surprise me when strangers thought that we (me and the mister) aren't married yet. Kadang-kadang, ada jua the elders giving us the 'kanak-kanak masani ani nda tau malu' look... ah well, take it as a compliment!

the quietness of the expo last time, even RBA booths were kosong and believe you me, the tickets were at an unexpected price...

In case everyone's still wondering, yeap... I'm still the same 'ol, same 'ol~ Missing all the ladies with all their updates and random chats at chatango above... mana kamuuuuu????!~~ :(

the daring RED

Salam all...

Was gonna talk about the meaning of the colour RED, but then again.. I think not~ Much has been happening to me the past 2 weeks. Recently, my office had our Hari Raya celebration .. and red happened to be my colour during the event.. hehehe skalinya? That got me thinking, yes.. I should do RED theme this time.

I have read through some of the chats above (didn't get the chance to read all cos byk dh ketinggalan) Internet's being unfriendly with me.. both at home and office.. so yeah~ can't get online la jwpannya~ I can surfed on to this site via my phone, yes, but then again, to comment on the chatango or wedding talks.. tak dapat lah pulak! I am soooooooooooooooo missing everyone in here!!! I miss updating news with you lots and alhamdulillah, I'm glad that sorang2 ada progress dh msani.

Before I proceed with the theme, lemme share with u lots my 7 mths journey on preparing my wedding last August. It's just a summary so if you ladies have any question, feel free to ask yea?

1. January : got engaged with my husband (25.01.2009) - hehe that's a date to remember ;)
   
2. February : surveying bridal boutiques for our desired baju Sanding (to buy kain ourselves or to just rent with our customade design) and book wedding ring
   
3. March : doing surveys and shopping for hantarans, buat Jongsarat
   
4. April : pelamin booked, taking measurements and designing for all my bajus, furniture bought, photog and MuA booked
   
5. May : invitation cards (confirmed and paid deposit), typing out names, room renovation
   
6. June : bought all the doorgifts and packaging, printing and sorting out invitation cards, booking for bouquets, room renovation continues
   
7. July : handing over of invitation cards, sorting out bunga talors, curtains installed, furniture delivered and room deco, delivered hantaran to SH - picked up 2 days before Nikah.
8. August : THE Wedding.

Bare in mind, the theme below are just the stuffs I surveyed for mine. (untuk ambil2 idea) hehe

Oh yes, to answer bride2bealso's question from my 'Wedding Talks'... susunan yg penting according to this.. Al-Quran (if ada), then Sirih Junjung (if ada), then Mas Kahwin, Jongsarat (if ada), and then cincin.. whilst the rest.. mana saja th tu, to suit its importance ;)

As for me and my hubby's own update, STILL blum lgi we do our post wedding photo shoot and still thinking on when's the best date to go for our honeymoon.. chosen a destination dh.. it'll be KL (shopping and honeymooning) hehehe. Right about now, I'm still sorting out pictures to be develop for our wedding album and photobook.. hmmm. terlampau banyak yg bsai2 bh, so far I've only managed to narrow it down to 500+ pix. Dear photog, please bare with me yeah? Will email you the list soon...

Mohon maaf atas entry yg 'tertunggak' (word?). Was about to publish an entry the other day but then... hmmmm, let it be lah yea~ Last Sunday was Muleh 7 Hari.. a function held secara sederhana saja, kira 'families ONLY' lh and wah! I was having butterflies the whoooooooole day! Lots of things playing in my mind.. like, apa saja th ni krg? how do I present myself? abis th ku niii...mothernya sporting plg ni..tapi aunty-auntynya cemana? the granny?? What if they don't like me? OMG!! OMG!! Yes, I was that panic, still is, until God knows when...guys cemani jua rasanya kah masa mula2 durang tidur rumah tani?? Teeeellll meeeeeeeeeeee~~~~ But yeh, keep on telling myself, be strong, ur husband's right next to you.. I'm sure whatever constraints, we both can do this together...he will support you in whatever way~ Insya-Allah *Amin*

To those of you yang belum lagi start kursus... actually ani ada plg termasuk dlm one of the Kursus Nikah chapters... just felt like sharing it with all of yous~

TANGGUNGJAWAB SEORANG ISTERI

TAAT
Tanggungjawab utama seorang isteri ialah isteri perlulah taat dan patuh kepada suaminya. Kesetiaan isteri kepada suaminya perlu diutamakan terlebih dahulu lebih daripada keluarga terdekatnya sendiri.

Ini berdasarkan kepada sabda Rasulullah SAW:

Sekiranya aku ini orang yang menyuruh mana-mana orang supaya sujud kepada orang lain tentu sekali aku akan menyuruh isteri sujud kepada suaminya. (Riwayat Abu Daud dan al-Hakim)

Isteri hendaklah mematuhi perintah si suami asalkan ia tidak bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam. Andainya suami menyuruh melakukan dosa maka isteri dibenarkan membantah.

Sabda Rasulullah SAW:

Tidak boleh mentaati mahluk dalam perkara menderhaka kepada Allah SWT. (Riwayat Ahmad)

Setelah berkahwin, suami mempunyai hak ke atas isteri. Oleh sebab itu, jika isteri ingin keluar rumah atau berpuasa sunat, ia hendaklah meminta izin daripada suami.

Sabda Rasulullah SAW:

Tidak halal bagi sesorang isteri yang beriman dengan Allah dan hari akhirat untuk berpuasa, sedangkan suaminya ada di sampingnya kecuali dengan keizinan suaminya itu. (Riwayat al-Bukhari, Muslim, dan Ahmad Ibn Hanbal)

Larangan berpuasa tanpa keizinan suami ini diwujudkan kerana dikhuatiri si isteri tidak dapat melayan kemahuan si suami dengan baik. Oleh sebab itu, meminta izin adalah sangat penting.


MELAYAN SUAMI
Si isteri juga hendaklah melayan kehendak suami dengan baik pada bila-bila masa sahaja. Hubungan yang perlu dijaga ialah hubungan kelamin antara kedua-duanya. Oleh sebab itu, si isteri hendaklah memastikan bahawa ia melayan kehendak suaminya.

Sabda Rasulullah SAW:

Apabila seorang suami mengajak isterinya ke tempat tidur, tetapi ia enggan melayan ajakan suaminya, maka suami tidur dengan marah pada waktu malam itu, nescaya malaikat mengutuknya sampai waktu subuh. (Riwayat sebahagian Ahli Sunnah)

Untuk mengelakkan daripada digolongkan dalam golongan yang ingkar, maka isteri perlulah memenuhi kemahuan si suami jika tidak mempunyai alasan yang kukuh untuk menolaknya.


MENGURUS RUMAHTANGGA
Tugas seorang isteri ialah untuk menjadikan tempat tinggalnya sebagai satu tempat untuk berehat serta menghasilkan persekitaran yang menyenangkan. Isteri hendaklah menghias rumah itu supaya ia kelihatan damai dan rasa senang hati untuk tinggal di situ. Untuk menghias rumah itu, si isteri perlulah menghias mengikut kemampuan keperluan keluarga itu. Citarasa hiasan dalaman itu bergantung kepada suami isteri asalkan ia tidak melanggar hukum Islam.

Apabila si suami memberi wang perbelanjaan kepada si isteri, maka si isteri mestilah berbelanja dengan bijak serta tidak membazir-bazirkan wang pemberian suaminya. Si isteri hendaklah berbelanja mengikut keperluan dan bukannya hawa nafsu. Si isteri mestilah memahami keadaan ekonomi suami yang sibuk mencari nafkah yang mencukupi untuk keluarganya. Oleh sebab itu, si isteri hendaklah membuat perbelanjaan keluarganya dengan bijak supaya tidak ada perbelanjaan melebihi pendapatan. Maka, si isteri hendaklah berjimat- cermat dalam membuat pembelian supaya suami isteri itu hidup dalam serba kesederhanaan sahaja. Tanggungjawab Bersama.

Pengurusan rumahtangga adalah tanggungjawab seorang isteri. Walaupun mempunyai pembantu rumah, isteri masih bertanggungjawab untuk menyelia segala pengurusan rumah itu. Suami pula diharapkan dapat membantu si isteri dalam melakukan kerja-kerja rumah. Dengan adanya kerjasama daripada kedua-dua belah pihak, maka akan wujudlah sebuah keluarga bahagia serta dapat merapatkan lagi hubungan sesama mereka.


MENJAGA MARUAH DIRI, SUAMI DAN KELUARGA
Sebagai seorang isteri, isteri hendaklah menjaga maruah dan akhlak terutamanya apabila keluar dari rumah. Apabila si isteri keluar rumah kerana sebab-sebab tertentu seperti bekerja, melawat sanak saudara atau keluar membeli-belah, pakaian yang dipakai hendaklah menutup aurat dan tidak menjolok mata, berjalan dengan cara yang tidak menarik perhatian ramai serta berkelakuan baik. Si isteri perlulah menundukkan pandangan serta menjauhkan dirinya daripada segala fitnah yang mungkin akan berlaku.

Firman Allah:


Hai Nabi, katakanlah kepada isteri-isterimu, anak-anak perempuanmu dan isteri-isteri orang mukmin:
"Hendaklah mereka menghulurkan Jilbabnya ke seluruh tubuh mereka". Yang demikian itu supaya mereka lebih mudah untuk dikenal, kerana itu mereka tidak diganggu. Dan Allah adalah Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang."
(Al-Ahzab: 59)

Seperti juga tanggungjawab si suami terhadap si isteri, segala kecacatan yang ada pada si suami hendaklah dirahsiakan. Ini adalah untuk mengelakkan perasaan aib timbul yang boleh menjurus kepada perbalahan. Sudah tentu perbalahan seperti ini perlulah dielakkan kerana ia boleh mengganggu pembentukan keluarga bahagia.


MENYENANGKAN HATI SUAMI
Apabila si suami memberikan pemberian dalam apa sahaja bentuk, adalah menjadi tanggungjawab si isteri untuk menghargai pemberian suami itu. Si isteri tidak boleh meminta-minta hadiah daripada si suami yang melebihi daripada kemampuannya. Jika mendapat hadiah walaupun yang kecil sahaja, isteri hendaklah menghargainya dan tidak mengkritik-kritik bentuk hadiah itu.

Untuk menyenangkan hati si suami melihat si isteri, maka si isteri haruslah menjaga dirinya supaya kelihatan ceria dan menarik. Ketika berada di dalam rumah, si isteri perlulah mengenakan solekan yang sewajarnya agar suami tertarik hati melihatnya. Si isteri juga hendaklah memakai wangi-wangian yang boleh menarik perhatian si suami.

Seorang perempuan tua Arab ada menasihatkan anaknya pada hari perkahwinannya:

O my daughter! You are leaving the home in which you brought up for a house unknown to you and to a companion unfamiliar to you. Be a floor to him, he will be a roof to you; be a soft seat to him, he will be a pillar for you; and be like a slave girl to him and he will be a slave boy to you. Avoid inopportune behaviour, least he should be bored with you; and be not aloof lest he should become indifferent to you. If he approaches you, come running to him; and if he turns away, do not impose yourself upon him. Take care of his nose, his eye and his ear. Let him not smell except a good odour from you; let not his eye see you except in an agreeable appearance; and let him hear nothing from you except nice, fine words.

PENDORONG DAN MEMBERI MOTIVASI
Isteri yang solehah seharusnya menjadi teman berunding bagi suami, menjadi sahabt dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Itulah sebabnya hubungan suami isteri itu diertikan orang sebagi "teman hidup". Jika suami menghadapi masalah untuk mencapai cita-citanya dan keluarganya, maka berilah motivasi kepada suami disamping menghiburkan hatinya.

Dalam sesebuah institusi keluarga, ahli-ahlinya perlulah bersama-sama memikul tanggungjawab supaya pembentukan keluarga bahagia akan tercapai. Dalam hal yang sedemikian, terdapat beberapa tanggungjawab yang dipikul bersama oleh suami isteri. Kedua-duanya perlulah mendalami ilmu fardu ain. Ini adalah perlu kerana ilmu ini merupakan panduan untuk mereka dalam menjalani kehidupan seharian. Kita juga wajib menuntut ilmu sampai ke liang lahad. Dengan mempelajari lebih banyak ilmu fardu ain, suami isteri dapat menghayati kehidupan Islam lebih bermakna lagi.

Untuk menyelesaikan apa juga masalah keluarga, suami isteri perlulah sentiasa berbincang demi kebaikan bersama. Perbincangan adalah lebih baik daripada bersikap autokratik kerana kata sepakat dapat dicapai untuk kebaikan bersama dan tidak untuk kepentingan satu pihak sahaja. Malah, dengan perbincangan juga suami isteri boleh mendapat ilham baru untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang dihadapi bersama. Dalam menunaikan tanggungjawab masing-masing, kadang-kadang kita memerlukan pertolongan dalam hal-hal kebajikan.

Isteri kadang-kadang memerlukan pertolongan si suami untuk membuat kerja-kerja rumah. Dalam hal sebegini, adalah perlu bagi pasangannya untuk meringankan beban yang dihadapi oleh pasangannya supaya kerja-kerja dapat dilaksanakan dengan cepat dan betul. Apabila seorang daripada mereka melakukan perkara yang ditegah, adalah menjadi tanggungjawab pasangannya untuk menegur kesilapan yang telah dilakukan. Suami isteri hendaklah saling tegur menegur dan menghalang pasangan masing-masing daripada melakukan kemungkaran, sebaliknya melakukan lebih banyak hal-hal kebajikan.

Kedua-duanya perlulah bersikap jujur dan selalu menepati janji antara satu sama lain kerana perkahwinan dianggap sebagai satu institusi yang mana ahli-ahlinya perlulah saling percaya mempercayai antara satu lama lain tanpa perlu berbohong atau menyimpan rahsia. Oleh sebab itulah maka suami isteri hendaklah bersikap terbuka dan berterus terang dalam banyak hal tanpa menyembunyikan kebenaran.

Suami isteri perlulah saling memaafkan dan menasihati kerana sebagai manusia, kita tidak dapat lari daripada melakukan kesilapan. Ini adalah penting kerana tanpa sikap pemaaf dan saling tegur menegur ini, maka suami isteri itu akan hidup dalam kekacauan kerana sering melakukan kesilapan tanpa ada orang yang ingin menegurnya ataupun sering berbalah kerana tidak ada sikap pemaaf itu.

Salah satu hikmah berkahwin ini ialah suami isteri dapat melakukan solat berjemaah. Seperti yang diketahui, jika kita solat berjemaah, maka pahala yang diperolehi adalah berganda-ganda daripada solat secara sendiri. Dengan melakukan solat berjemaah ini maka perhubungan ukhwah antara suami isteri dapat dipereratkan. Yang paling penting dalam kehidupan sebagai suami isteri ini ialah bertawakal kepada Allah setelah berusaha sedaya upaya untuk mencapai kebahagiaan dalam hidup berumahtangga.


KESIMPULAN
Secara kesimpulannya, dapatlah kita lihat bahawa perkahwinan ini adalah penting dalam sesebuah masyarakat kerana keluarga merupakan batu asas dalam pembinaan sesebuah masyarakat. Untuk melahirkan sesebuah masyarakat yang bahagia, kita perlulah memastikan bahawa ahli-ahli masyarakat itu menjalankan tanggungjawab masing-masing. Untuk melahirkan masyarakat yang yang kuat, mulia, dan saling bertangungjawab, pembentukan keluarga yang bahagia adalah sangat penting. Oleh sebab itu, adalah penting untuk membentuk sesebuah keluarga bahagia.

Back then, I always question myself.. mengapa kna buat Majlis Berbedak for a wedding function? I know some would say... 'Andangnya sudah mesti ada...mau jua kn pakai pakaian Brunei kan...?' but is it really what we need? So I question myself... why did I do it? Truthfuly speaking.. I once talked to my parents of not wanting the ceremony to be held (constrained budget).. and they were like 'eh baik jua, dorg adi-beradi mu ya juanya...' 

As a true Tutong folk, actually kami nda necessary memakai pakaian Brunei (all the ayam-ayam, naga and the likes).. but then again, I do have a little bit of Brunei-Muara blood in me.. (Mulah Nini Bini frm Dad's side) Kali Mum tanya, "Ko pakai pakaian Brunei kh nda ni? Kaka mu dlu pakai jua"  and my Sis was like... "Dang... pakai saja tia! bila jua masanya lgi~"   Sekalinya, "pakai eh.. sayang jua~" :D Rented out my pakaian Brunei from Myzura Bridal Gallery @ Kiulap, 1st floor above the photo shop yg sebaris AV Electronics, Virgo Boutique.. etc. Based on my surveys last time.. most bridal boutiques rented out the pakaian Brunei @ the same price..hence, cari saja mana yg available 1 set atu..~ For my little fruities yg nda tau pasal pakaian ani.. they were like "Waaahh lawa jua, tpi knapa pakai atu? Knapa crownnya lain??" Haha kids nowadays~

Back to why we do berbedak ceremonies... in the olden days (as told by Dad), yg membadaki ani bukan orang calang-calang... normally it'll b the Elderly relatives. In a way, to me, it's one way  to have them gather round and bestow us, the Pengantins, their blessings..besertakan do'a from all lah tu ah. Some families still do the Adat Meng-aga-i (i.e groom's family ke rumah the Bride and vice versa)...of which, we don't practice and I dare not comment anything regarding that matter... that for sure is a lengthy one, sudah th family diri, family 'dangan' lagi.. fuuuhh!! Kul 11 a.m kli? I guess that's why nowadays jrg lgi dipractice by some.. and the fact that the berbedak function is mostly done on the same day of the Bersanding / Nikah hehe~

Last Sunday was THE SANDING day... sorry that I couldn't get to update you all sooner as I was pretty *ahem* busy~ ;)

Alhamdulillah everything went well last weekend, from Friday to Sunday inda beranti-ranti orang bedudun ke rumah, i.e. those yg nda blaku dtg for my wedding functions lh tu ah. My sisters and the aunties were super dooper bz!! Menghidang wajid, kelupis and mum's nasi Lemak!! Nyumminess!!! 

As for me? Haha let me tell you little story about Saturday afternoon... all of yous can't prolly imagine how panic i was when I've got 6 of my fingers smudged with SUPERGLUE!!! Yes supergluuuueeee!!! Yg got itself dried within seconds!! Good thing ya smudged saja, if the whole fingers melakat.. OMG!!! Susah jua saya tuuuuu~ Auuuuuu still payah to get them removed lh.. especially mlm atu I hav Majlis Berbedak!!! The thing was, one of the decorative stones for the bunga telur stand (pahar) tertanggal.. yth kna suruh gam with superglue yg cair, so it dripped to my fingers, smpi the stones pun ikut melakat jua.. I was like, OMG, OMG!! This is not happening!!! It took me about an hour and a half to finally hav all fingers free of superglue! Mesti pelahan2.. pakai tweezers to peel them off.. hot water jua lh (paling penting) .. mun nda, nada masuk pacar d jari2 eh~ Gladly Mummy didn't knw awal2 atu.. else, haih~ nda tau lah abis kli kna marahi!

Oh btw, for everyone's info.. I will NOT REVEAL my face here in "My Wedding" but will only post my preparations and baju2 plus other DIY stuffs yg I have implemented for my wedding. And yes, for those yg think they know who I am... just hush2 yea... no fun if it was to be revealed openly arah this blog kan? ;) I'm sure all you ladies are clever enough to figure me out? :) :D 

Remember my post pasal decorating my staircase? Hehehe, hmm the evening before Nikah... my good friend dtg ke rumah and she was a dear that saved my life!! Totally!! Thought that I couldn't finished the works before my Nikah.. thanks doll~ U know who u are...

A month before my Akad Nikah, I surfed into some infos on things to do 'spiritually' before Nikah.. well actually, start kursus atu lah sudah. Ada jua baiknya lh Pejabat Ugama membuat Kursus ani... good thing Cigu yg mengajar kami atu funny jua lh orgnya *thumbsup* I remember her telling us preps for wedding ani ukannya yg booking sana booking sini atu... that's just for the Majlis, but to get yourself ready spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally...

Our jurunikah said to us last time, marriage isn't just about "I Love you, you love me ni ah~..." funny guy! Hehehe.. But, nuff said... I leave tukang kursus to talk to you lots aboutt all those.. hehe and yanng kan Nikah nanti ani, here's the infos I got from reliable sources online, ofwhich i added few yg I did jua lh ah (those yg in Italic)

Tip menjelang Akad Nikah...

• Seeloknya, bakal pengantin melakukan solat Hajat malam sebelum upacara akad nikah untuk memastikan kelancaran majlis. Ia juga bagi mengelak kejadian tidak diingini... -I would advice the ladies if tau dh ngam2 kn nikah atu u're 'unable' to perform this, baik th awal2... buat solat sunat Taubat jua~ minta ampun banar2, we all have our own sins that can only be dealt between us and the Almighty.. so baik th~
  

• Amalkan surah Al-Inshirah (Alam-Nashrah) untuk mengurangkan rasa debaran menjelang detik dinikahkan. Surah itu juga yang diamalkan Nabi Musa ketika berdepan firaun.... - again for ladies yg inda dapat, banyak2kan selawat, paling bisai "La Illaha illa anta subhannaka inni kuntu minaz dzalimin..." trust me it helps!

• Bakal pengantin lelaki boleh mengamalkan surah Toha (ayat 25 - 28) untuk mengurangkan darah gemuruh. Selesai membaca, bolehlah minum segelas air untuk penenang jiwa... - not forgetting to read doa diatas atu jua. If ada air Zam-zam or air yg kna bacai surah Yaasin lagi bisai...

Insya-Allah, everything will be di lindungi olehNya .... *Amin*

It's Friday, 24.07, and today will be another busy day...

The progress for house spring cleaning is 80%. Dad said we need to empty up the living room before next week.. banyak lgi masa, lgipun next week start cuti~~~ And OMG!!!! Wednesday next week jua dorang memasang pelamin!!!! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.. It's gonna be next week ppl!! 1 week, 2 days til I'm officially his wife!! *gasp*Now I'm nervous, not nervous pasal Nikah, nervous on how the pelamin looks, so far... when attending weddings, Mum kebisaian the 2nd pelamin pic I posted... and then my sisters pun sama juanya, the recent wedding they attended pun dorang kelawaan the pelamin which is.. yeh, the same pelamin yg mummy suka!! :s

I'm like, uhhh... I wanted to rent that one but I somehow inda jadi, and thank God I didnt cos, dear fiancé's sister pun pakai that pelamin last time... indakan balik2 sama pelamin?? (kes menyamankan hati ni.. padahal takut kena kritik abis2an.. esp. th Mummy.. *nervous*nervous*) But insya-Allah, ok Mama ni... *Amin*

So last week too, me and the fam decided to pack the doorgifts for Sanding day (au wah, last time ckp time mlm after berbedak session? *lol*) And I was deeply touched by my little nephews and nieces who willingly participated in helping us out. Mun sampai, by the time my aunties came to the house to lend their extra hand... almost kn siap th ya udah! *lol* Mind you the little fruitees are just 4-8 yrs of age..dua org sja yg above 10... such sweet little kids, end of the session Dad rized them with Paddle-Pop sticks, nyaman jua lapas bekeraja tungkus lumus atu!

Me : Waaahhh, rajin jua semua mau help Uncu ani? Tadi semua do all the packing now angkat2 kotak ya jua?

Nephew D : Mm-hmm, pasal tadi ***** nda byk tolong..

Nephew A & B : Kami strong kali ah!

Niece B : And pasal kami semua sayang Uncu, yth kami help Uncu... *hugs*

Niece C : Aku nda dpt tolong angkat pasal masih small :D

I was deeply touched by the statement made by niece B.. kan nangis saja inda bh mendgr she said like that... Awwwwwww~~~

Meanwhile my sisters were doing a very tedious job of cleaning the TV/family area upstairs... kesian them, but Alhamdulillah.. the place is now cleared! *double thumbs up* Kamu memang steady!! ;) Oh my, it's already 8a.m and I need to do some work by 11a.m. Phew~ Til next time ppl, nah! my dad mengatuk pintu th ya udah.. eeeeeee mbari tekajut saja bah! Cuti.. Work.. Cuti..Work.. Cuti, Cuti.. Work, Work, Work.. Cuti.. Work..CUUUUTTTIIIII!! Hahaha awu lai~~ nda lagi sabar ni kan hols :) :) :) :) Me and Dear fiancé have been counting the days for our Nikah. Nervous? Yes!!

Supposedly kan rilex2 saja today cos I have rescheduled myself for a busy spring cleaning at home kicking off this weekend. Dearest Mummy has been veerrryy busy memindah2 her flower pots supaya sanang simpan kem nanti (terlampau byk bunga bah~) Yes, Mum is bonkers dengan activity memelihara bunga-bungaan but I would say it's a good exercise for her nonetheless. :D Keep it up Mummy!!

So far.. my preps tinggal implementation saja lagi. My room needs a small rug to compliment the look, as well as a proper door mat (all this while pakai labih2an carpet saja... biasa~). The stair case deco...decided to do the works myself within the allocated budget for tempahan.. Double thumbs up if i can pull this off. Date to do decorations... 01.08.2009 ( so brg2 mesti semua ada before that day...) To decorate an old fashion staircase.. cana ah? I want them simple saja from cheap materials but yet still can look so elegant.. see lah how the outcome nanti.. :D :D

Other than that, doorgifts packaging for orang membadaki, malam Berbedak guests and Dzikir sudah siap dilaksanakan. 3/4 of which andang hajat mummy.. so it's from her own expenses. My idea was taken into consideration for the guests only (initial idea for Sanding doorgifts actually) but ofcourse size sja ikut selera Mummy... Me and the family have yet to do packaging for Sanding doorgifts (after Majlis Malam Berbedak pslnya nda tau mana kn menyimpan if d pack awal2) and Nikah doorgifts (ani my sister punya bahagian ne.. hehe). Since it's in the form of food kan.. so biar lambat2 lh bsai asal sanggup bergotong royong malam2 atu.. hehe

Right about now.. I'm staring at my wardrobe for the 3 bajus to be used for my events.. *sigh* Malam tadi was testing out my flipflops and sandals (bought at ShoeLovers at such a very cheap price.. hehehe but still lawa.. although I am considering the idea of my dear sisters kan pakai kasut turun temurun atu... hmmm we'll see, we'll see... I can't waiiiiittttttttttttt!!!!!

Oh btw~~ Surat Kebenaran Nikah for dear fiancé sudah me ambil from the Syariah Court yesterday (yes, the kebenaran will only be out 2 weeks before nikah) This is required for Jurunikah nanti. We need...

• Copies of chopped (fully attended) pre-Nikah course attendance sheets
• Copies of Receipts (payment upon submission of Borang Kebenaran Nikah @ Syariah Courts)
• Copies of I/C
• Copies of Birth Certs

.... all of which must be attached with this Surat Kebenaran and d bawa k Pejabat Ugama where the bride (me) register for my application..and then baru th kna bagi tue Borang 4 (Borang for Jurunikah)~ Let me summarise for all..

1. Acquiring Borang Kebenaran Nikah from Syariah Court (Declaration letters from respective Ketua Kg, signatures of Wali (bride) and the 2 Saksi with address and I/C no.)
   
2. Submit the forms and make payments upon submission ($10/person),
3. Register for Kursus Nikah and acquire the attendance sheet (mesti d bawa everytime and pay $4 for the Nikah course Book,
4. Upon completion of Kursus, copies of the attendance should be made for the above purpose,
5. Surat kebenaran Nikah (released by the Syariah Court ~2 wks before Nikah)
   
6. Acquire Borang 4 ... Pass to Jurunikah (get ready with $30 for this) He will handle the rest..
   
7. Solemnization ceremony (Sign the Borang 4).. oh yes, Groom jangan lupa bawa I/C time nikah ah.. some Jurunikah suka tu meniaya pasal I/C ani.. some even mean it!
   
8. Submit original copies of course attendance sheets, signed Nikah form annnd then baru tah ada kna keluarkan Sijil Kahwin

Salam...

3 weeks before my Nikah, 2 weeks before I finally start my holiday and only 8 working days to finish up my work before I passed them on to the officer yg memangku.. YES, 8 days and I hoped to get the matters done ASAP so that I can have my holiday in peace! Nada siuk tu mun sibuk2 jua nguruskan finishing touches for my wedding and at the very same time sibuk th jua orang office menepon hal itu ini. BUt then again, can't escape as well cos to escape is to run away from your responsibility and yes, I am still responsibile for every actions of my work regardless me being on hols... (that's normal kan?)

I can't really say whether or not me and my soon-to-be husband will be going off someplace for a short honeymoon. The Swine Flu is abit worrying and yeah, I rather not go to any countries cos I reaaaaaaaaally, really, reaaaaally don't want to get myself quarantined! Jaaadinyaaa, KNK saja lah.... kumpul duit lagi then prolly sometime next yr th we go holiday-ing to someplace romantic *winks*

As mentioned earlier, we've had our hantaran(s) sent over for decoration dh~ Can't wait for the outcome!!! For sure lawa tu... *insyaAllah* Aunty Hjh has been really nice to us that we spent almost an hour at her boutique becerita2. It was a nostalgic moment for her, I bet she never expected that she would be seeing two of her long lost friends' children tying their knot. I saw the look in her eyes, it was pure grace. Aunty Hjh even said to us, "bila kamu mengaga barang 2 kamu nanti bawa Mama kamu ah.. rindu aunty kan dorang..." I was deeply touched. Will do, Aunty.. will do. Hopefully jua our Mums available that day. :D

I understand I did quite a lot of photoblogging lately rather than my rants. Hehehe. My apologies. But as for now, I'm busy with my work @ workplace... and yes, the invitation card is out sudah for the staffs kat office. Glad I did the scrolls thingy cos senang they all simpan arh their notice boards :D To my unit, kamu nanti sja I print out the scrolls ah... last day of work me bagi hehehe :P~

Yet another successful Friday *yay* I was thankful though I had to actually cancel my morning appointment for a reason. Managed to pass some of my invitation cards to my dear Uni junior (she'll pass on to the rest of the gals & guys lagi), they've always been there for me and this is my only way to thank them all.... :) Thank you all~ Datang ah to my wedding!

I'm sure this may come to a shock for some of them... yes, ME, getting married!!! Everyone's happy for me though... Alhamdulillah~ I remember few months ago when one of them asked me...

J : "Eh lai, let me see your hand!"

Me : *blur and show her my hands*

L : "Nah see cincin ah.... betunang ko udah kh???"

Me : Hehehe... apa sulnya??

J : "Eeee banar kh nda c banar ani... mua mu ani payah sikit kn pecaya.. mun banar ALHAMDULILLAH!!!"

L : "Au eh.. ko selalu kai cincin arh kelingking saja.. jrg arh jari manis"

Me : *lol* yth kamu atu nah... nda jua salah makai cincin d jari manis (trying to confuse them lagi) Lawa bh cincin ani d pakai d jari manis.. nda?? Murah ganya mo time sale aritu ku mbali...

Back to the preps.. had a trial with the M.U.A last Tuesday. Phewww.. ilang nervoooouuuusss! Haha we only did the trial for nikah, the rest? Samples of shadow colours saja~ Lawa!! Dear fiancé kononnya kn meliat the finished make-up work arh LIVE webcam tapi ntah knapakh MSN beproblem msatu... ya suruh liat time Nikah saja tu sayang, dapan2 lgi best tau.. But I snapped a few shots so I just showed him the pics saja and really glad that he loves them as well... Alhamdulillah~

Another good news would be, the Sanding attire. Decided to drop by at the bridal boutique this p.m and what do u know?? The baju is ready for fitting *waaaaaahhh!!!* APA lagiiiii?!?! Had our fitting lah tadi.. simply gorgeous!!! A slight alteration and the dress will be good for next month *thumbsup* Dear fiancé is abit cautious with his attire.. nampak mcm ia damit or so he claimed. Maybe the coat atu abit big kli? Tpi masa him fitting tadi.. ok jua usulnya~ I'd say his Dastar plang yg make him look small atu.. krg th liat the pics lgi. Iski our tailor trus..siap ambil camera and gambar2 lgi *lol* funny bunch dorg atu! Next fitting session will be end of this month (moment of truth tuuu...! OMG) I have chosen the set of tiaras that matches with my baju sanding..but I have yet to reconfirm the rental for my tiara sets utk nikah and muleh 7 as well as the Traditional Bebadak accessories set..

More things to do would be :

1. Confirm house decorations
2. To decide either to custom-made/rent tudong for Nikah and Muleh 7
3. get the final items for my balasan hantarans
   
4. Move the rest of my stuffs back into my room
5. Give my cat his well-deserved grooming session
6. Distribute my invitation cards (for office) by mid of this month
7. send over my balasans for deco
   
8. Empty out the living room
9. Spring cleaning the whooooooooleeee house!
10. try to concentrate with my office work
11. get my car road tax and insurance re-newed, and..
12. get enough rest daily!

just another Sunday morning

Today marks to be THE day for 3 ppl I know...

1. future sis-in-law (Solemnization Ceremony today)
   
2. one of my gfs (Engagement)
   
3. office friend (Sanding) - different branch
   

Right about now I'm still weighing the thought of whether to attend (2) & (3) or just (1). Macam, mun dpt d tampik badan ani bsai bh ni..

But anyways, I'll ponder on that one as I typed my following entry. Was planning to post my 'Wedding Must Shots' but I seem to have too much info to squeeze into one, so edit2 dlu lah yea~ My bedset was fixed into my room last Friday, and oh, oh, oh was I really excited!! :D Sapa inda kan?? I know I've mentioned to few that I cudn't fit the bedside table to yeh, the bedside.. apparently Friday evening atu dpt kami usahakan *lol* I was knackered that i even fell asleep infront of my lappy while on the phone with dear fiancé *tsk*tsk* shame on me!!

The process of having to get all my stuffs back into my room can be tiresome... so far, ehe, I only got the tiny hanger being put next to my wardrobe *lol* need to do my 2nd session of jualan lelong ni... i.e. giving away my clothes to my relatives. My aunties byk dh aim dorg with my baju kurung *lol* Cali bh dorg ah... Oh dear, I shud be putting on names for my invitation cards.. banyak kan d bagi ne today *I hope*... and yes, I decided to attend (2) & (3) ... as for (1)? will attend the Sanding ceremony next week :D :D

Salam dear readers..

The invitation card has been collected. Since the last weekend, all of us were sorting out the cards :

1. Invitations with all 3 events
2. Invitations with only 2 events
3. Invitations for 1 event

Got my list of names printout on stickers already and so far we (me and Dad) have manage to sort out few kampongs. I do the cutting whilst Dad gets to choose which name yg d bagi all 3 events invitations and which yg inda... 144 names sudah~ yeay! Will do more tomorrow insya-Allah... As for campur, for the time being I would say the cost of each item is within the budget and menepati Mum's wish *thumbsup* got for malam ready.. for siang sja lagi :)

Had a lunch gathering with my dearest friends today and got to hand them my invitation cards (awal? .. takut nxt month busy smpi nada masa kan bagi dorg and yes, cos they're my friends and I do wish to give them first hand!) June will be another busy month for my wedding preps, flooring peeps will come in nxt Sunday, then I can do cleaning up for my room.. lap2 sana sini especially the lampu dlm bilik yg sudah berhabok *ah-choo* then maybe the week after, I could ask my bedset to be delivered to my place.. yippee!! Ada katil baru~ but, but ikut style my cousin... nda mo tidur atas katil eh, pakai tilam and zzzz atas lantai saja *lol* Other than that, need to follow-up with my tailor regarding our baju for the 3 events. Bilaaaaa th kn fitting ani?? We certainly can afford to do much in July nanti cos it's HM's birthday season so yeah.. the whole month's gonna be extraordinarily BUSY!

Things to do in June :

• continue with labelling my invitation cards.. still have bandar, belait and 3/4 of Tutong lgi...owh, owh not forgetting officemates and staffs ;)
  
• confirmation with photogs (gather ideas for prewed and postwed photoshoots)
• installation of flooring
• to clean my room before/after bedsets being delivered
• delivery of bedset
• to put back all my stuffs back into my room
• netball / jogging
  
• get form for Jurunikah (end of the month)
  
• to confirm pelamin and colour concepts as well as designs
• fitting baju berbedak, Bersanding and Muleh 7
  (ani menunggu call ni.. mudahan jua by mid of the month..*Amin*)
  
• pasang curtains for my room :) Yay!~
  
• buy table lamp (found them sudah ganya blum I buy sal don't know where to put)
• prepare report for my work.. no, correction, report(s)

So many things to do yet soooo little time.... the clock is ticking.. tick, tock, tick, tock!

Thursday
- FINALLY!!! I get to see the samples for my timber flooring... good thing I attended the CLEX exhibition @ ICC last time. Dapat jua special promotional price.. *sigh* The thing is material belum lgi masuk Brunei, so... have to wait for the materials to come in and then pay deposits and then suruh install~ *yay!!* By then prolly it's June.. and my curtains pun siap dh kli tu *hopefully*..so can ask them to pasang jua... mid-June, my furniture will come in.. or maybe end of June?

Friday
- Again.. FINALLY!!! Got my invitation card sorted out. Paid my deposits and Insya-Allah will be ready in saay... 2 weeks time? At least by early June nanti bleh sort out the invitation cards.. siapa yg d bagi full.. siapa yang inda.. to print out the guests names lagi... boh mcm busy June ani??

Sunday
- Celebrated Mother's Day with the family. My sis lanja and dear fiancé was invited. Decided to do my shopping for Kain Baju Melayu and Sinjangs for Hantaran and Alhamdulillah.. got them all at a very good and discounted prices!! ;) cool eh? And uniforms for the Gents in the family pun me dpt dah... so, that's sorted out~ *thumbsup* Shopping mode was definitely ON!! Hahaha.. rupanya Nazmi had a special promo for Mother's Day..patutlh semua 30-60% discountnya~ Got a B$133 kain spasang for just $50!!! Mana nda dear fiancé mcm.. 'Bah bali tia~ for my Hantaran..' hehehe iskiness!!!!

- Wedding rings are ready and so went to check it out jua today~ Lawaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! *sigh* I was in the 'moment' d kdai td atu... hehehe so we ask them to keep it safe for us until someday near to our wedding day :) :) '.. then we'll keep it forever..'

- We've the chance to go to this flower boutique at the Centerpoint (yg d belakang) Apparentlyyyyy... they have services for hantaran deco AS WELL AS modern concept pelamins! A little suggestion for those yg belum cnfirmkan their pelamins and hantarans k? But for hantaran..gangsa nda plg ada tu.. just hantaran deco and rental of pelamins and deco for halls / houses and bedrooms! ;)

As for me, everything is going on well and yes, well sorted.. mudah2an jua June/July follow-up sessions nanti going on fine.. insya-Allah *amin* Can't wait to see the finished products of my baju(s) hehe...
