no title for this one...

Cuti.. Work.. Cuti..Work.. Cuti, Cuti.. Work, Work, Work.. Cuti.. Work..CUUUUTTTIIIII!! Hahaha awu lai~~ nda lagi sabar ni kan hols :) :) :) :) Me and Dear fiancé have been counting the days for our Nikah. Nervous? Yes!!

Supposedly kan rilex2 saja today cos I have rescheduled myself for a busy spring cleaning at home kicking off this weekend. Dearest Mummy has been veerrryy busy memindah2 her flower pots supaya sanang simpan kem nanti (terlampau byk bunga bah~) Yes, Mum is bonkers dengan activity memelihara bunga-bungaan but I would say it's a good exercise for her nonetheless. :D Keep it up Mummy!!

So far.. my preps tinggal implementation saja lagi. My room needs a small rug to compliment the look, as well as a proper door mat (all this while pakai labih2an carpet saja... biasa~). The stair case deco...decided to do the works myself within the allocated budget for tempahan.. Double thumbs up if i can pull this off. Date to do decorations... 01.08.2009 ( so brg2 mesti semua ada before that day...) To decorate an old fashion staircase.. cana ah? I want them simple saja from cheap materials but yet still can look so elegant.. see lah how the outcome nanti.. :D :D

Other than that, doorgifts packaging for orang membadaki, malam Berbedak guests and Dzikir sudah siap dilaksanakan. 3/4 of which andang hajat mummy.. so it's from her own expenses. My idea was taken into consideration for the guests only (initial idea for Sanding doorgifts actually) but ofcourse size sja ikut selera Mummy... Me and the family have yet to do packaging for Sanding doorgifts (after Majlis Malam Berbedak pslnya nda tau mana kn menyimpan if d pack awal2) and Nikah doorgifts (ani my sister punya bahagian ne.. hehe). Since it's in the form of food kan.. so biar lambat2 lh bsai asal sanggup bergotong royong malam2 atu.. hehe

Right about now.. I'm staring at my wardrobe for the 3 bajus to be used for my events.. *sigh* Malam tadi was testing out my flipflops and sandals (bought at ShoeLovers at such a very cheap price.. hehehe but still lawa.. although I am considering the idea of my dear sisters kan pakai kasut turun temurun atu... hmmm we'll see, we'll see... I can't waiiiiittttttttttttt!!!!!

Oh btw~~ Surat Kebenaran Nikah for dear fiancé sudah me ambil from the Syariah Court yesterday (yes, the kebenaran will only be out 2 weeks before nikah) This is required for Jurunikah nanti. We need...
  • Copies of chopped (fully attended) pre-Nikah course attendance sheets
  • Copies of Receipts (payment upon submission of Borang Kebenaran Nikah @ Syariah Courts)
  • Copies of I/C
  • Copies of Birth Certs
.... all of which must be attached with this Surat Kebenaran and d bawa k Pejabat Ugama where the bride (me) register for my application..and then baru th kna bagi tue Borang 4 (Borang for Jurunikah)~ Let me summarise for all..
  1. Acquiring Borang Kebenaran Nikah from Syariah Court (Declaration letters from respective Ketua Kg, signatures of Wali (bride) and the 2 Saksi with address and I/C no.)
  2. Submit the forms and make payments upon submission ($10/person),
  3. Register for Kursus Nikah and acquire the attendance sheet (mesti d bawa everytime and pay $4 for the Nikah course Book,
  4. Upon completion of Kursus, copies of the attendance should be made for the above purpose,
  5. Surat kebenaran Nikah (released by the Syariah Court ~2 wks before Nikah)
  6. Acquire Borang 4 ... Pass to Jurunikah (get ready with $30 for this) He will handle the rest..
  7. Solemnization ceremony (Sign the Borang 4).. oh yes, Groom jangan lupa bawa I/C time nikah ah.. some Jurunikah suka tu meniaya pasal I/C ani.. some even mean it!
  8. Submit original copies of course attendance sheets, signed Nikah form annnd then baru tah ada kna keluarkan Sijil Kahwin
8 steps yo!!! Banyak jua ah... ??? Two weeks and 4 days to go.. and I'm yours~~

"Diantara tanda-tanda kekuasaan Allah ialah Dia menciptakan untukmu isteri-isteri dari jenismu sendiri, supaya kamu cenderung dan merasa tenteram kepadanya, dan dijadikan-Nya di antara kamu rasa kasih dan sayang. (Ar-Rum 21)

bridal bouquet

Salam..

I remember in one of my previous entries in March, I mentioned about booking a ticket flight to K.L again? Well, I sorta cancelled that cos I decided to redo my invitation card in Brunei saja. Juz because of a 'miscommunication', I had to redo them all over again, but nonetheless, yes, Alhamdulillah~ BUT Mummy and dear Sis's flight is still on and at this very moment, they're in K.L woohoo~ Did tell my sis to get me some good Tudongs while they're there! ;) Jangan lupaaaaaaaa!!!! And ladies, please becareful.. I just received a text that 1 local is infected by H1N1 dh frm KL.. :x Mudah2an Mummy and Sis dilindungi olehNya *Amin*

Had a glimpse of my invitation card last Tuesday, it's almost ready cos tinggal melipat2 lgi and hopefully will probably be done by *insya-Allah* today latest Saturday~ (as promised) I like the finished product, macam waaahh.. nyaman jua rasa hati seeing them lah. Dear daddy's been following up saja 'Belum siap kad jemputan mu? Byk lg kn d buat ni.. sorting out jemputan apa.. menampal2 nama atu sekjp, ni nah, menyusun family by family ah..' heheh so yeah :D You most definitely won't be disappointed Dad!! Design of the card? Simple but elegant... as future sis-in-law would say it.. :)

Moving on to my preparation updates, you know when your other halves have that skeptical look as you enter Charles & Keith or Vincci or any other shoe shops? And maybe for those of you not in Brunei, as you enter TOPSHOP, Miss Selfridge, H&M or Primark?? Haha, I know~ that "Uh-oh, here we go again.." look, but when the shoe /dress fits you right and nicely they'd have the expression? the twinkles in their eyes and glow from the face? ...................................... EXACTLY the look on dear fiancé's face masa I tried out this shoe @ Shoe Lovers last week. It was to die for!!! The moment liat mukanya like that, I just knew I should buy them... "Ai lawa sayang!! U're gonna buy that??" "Bh ON!" (meaning, bh bali tia! hehehe)

I already have a flipflop for the solemnization ceremony costs less that $50 and now a 2.5" heels prolly for hmmm, the sanding? and can be worn lgi afterwards to attend dinner functions, weddings or hmmm.. raya? Or prolly special function with the hubby.. *winks*winks* kn sayang kan?

That's almost ALL preparations done except.... my bridal bouquet. I want fresh flowers. Yes, demanding I may be, I WANT fresh flowers for my wedding bouquet. I still haven't survey all the florists here cos I think it's still early and maybe lagi bisai if I do this in July nanti.. *sigh* pebaik th busy month for my work tu... dudidudidudidudidu~ In the mean time, I hav surfed through for various bridal bouquet designs and it's available HERE.

Honestly speaking before this I don't even know that there are actually different types of bridal bouquet.. rupanya macam2!! Personally I think yg more towards our Malay culture would be :
  1. The Posy Bouquet
  2. The Nosegay Bouquet (auu 'gay')
  3. The Biedermeier Bouquet (sounds exquisite!)
  4. The Composite-Flower bouquet
  5. The Ballerina
  6. The Unique ones, click HERE
Can't actually decide, which design I really want but I do know I want roooooossseeesssss!!! Here are some samples I kidnapped from Google, includes yg di atas atu~ *lol*

roses and lilies...
roses... lawa eeeeee!!

the pink and whites
noticed the way they tied the flowers... unique kan???

I may not be a big fan of yellow but this is simply nice!!

and ofcourse these~ suits best with white, cream, or any combination that has little bit of purple on your dresses... ;)

Now you ladies and gents know why I find it hard to decide on which style to make for my bridal bouquet?? Cos you see, it's not just abt the flower is how you arrange them.. as for me, my priorities would be, at least ada couple of roses OR just roses allover AND the flowers to be delivered to my place, instead of me or a representative picking them up due to handling purpose... so where oh where can I find such services? I know Maszalina Boutique does this.. as well as the florist behind the Centerpoint... I hav yet to go to Roz's Flower boutique in Serusop and see what they offer... hmmm, mana lgi florist d Brunei ani kn?????!

some tips..

Salam all and good evening...

Just merely updating the blog as I was surfing through google and found these...I was actually looking for some tips for myself jua. Had a conversation with the other bride-to-bes regarding 'belulut' before wedding last night, and yes, as we all know confirm bh malam before bersanding atu kna 'luluti' leh Pengangun.. so that's why I'm not bothered by it.. *lol* BUT as adviced mesti buat jua lh awal2... (mesti th merajinkan diri nee...~)

Other beauty tips which we should look into for BOTH male and female :

Monthly

Have a facial
(better awal lh ah~ baik jua bejaga2)
Have an aromatherapy massage
(this one th yg I haven't done up until now.. I think I'm gonna go a week before my wedding ne..)

Have a pedicure and manicure..
(if u can't do them urselves then go to the salon)

Waxing treatment <-- a MUST especially the wedding week! :P
Hair treatment (steam kh ozone kh.. whichever you prefer) <-- should be maintained until forever ni...~

Weekly

Exfoliate face and body... Belulut as well as SCRUBbing!!
Have a manicure.. if need to lh ah~
Conditioning treatment for hair (simply with our hair conditioners)
Facial mask (juz get those ones yg arh Guardian ah..soothing, really!!)

Daily

Cleanse, tone and moisturise..the face
Apply cuticle oil.. the fingers
Lotion...the whole body
Drinks lots and lots of water.. preferrably 8 glasses per day
Keep a healthy diet
Exercise at least 30mins

I have actually found a real article in a magazine but I somehow misplaced it.. ntah manakah hilangnya, it's one of those WANITA, NONA, JELITA mags I bought.. haih~ cuai, cuai.. but yeh,, will try to find that one and post it up here cos bisai bh isi2nya.. like 6mths before wedding..apa u shud do~ 4mths.. 3 mths.. and sampailah the wedding day... ugh!

Can't blieve I misplaced that mag.. *sigh*

Anyways... up next,
something essential for all brides~ that's all I can say..for now ;)

talk abt preps~

Had this entry ready 2 nights ago but didn't get the chance to publish it.. nyeh, nyeh, nyeh~

I was having dinner with my parents when the story about my wedding preparation popped in. Mum was actually reminding the maid, to keep safe the daun 'pacar' yg her friend bought for her frm Mekah.. au, ytbh~ ready dh mummy ah hehehe... She said it's for my wedding nanti so I asked her, who'll be my Pengangun. She haven't actually decide who but for sure it's one of the relatives lh... *phew* Dlu my sisters bisai~ late wife my Angah sja, now she nada.. *sigh* (Al-Fatihah)

THEN I asked my parents, what exactly peranan 'pengangun' ani kan... why must there be a pengangun for pengantins? be it for men / women? Kata dorg, Pengangun ani time dlu2 for sure org yg 'berisi' / 'berilmu' that can actually prevent us pengantins from outside disturbance. Kan zaman dulu-dulu ani ada2 saja org kn mengacau, especially th klu yg berdendam2 ani..over the top tu ilmu mengacau ah~ SO yeah, pengangun ani kira penjaga KHAS for Pengantin lah... That explains why they're very strict sometimes... kuat th ilmunya tu!

Oh yes, why female? I also forgot to ask... my wild guess would be, bini2 saja yg hold that 'ilmu' no? Just a guess.. hehehe maybe you all can find that one out for me..

THEN mummy asked me about my bajus... hoodear, siap sudah / belum?? She's doing a follow-up ni..more like bertanya lh jua cos she doesn't know how exactly me buat my baju(s) *lol* yes, yes.. I didn't tell dearest mummy. such a meanie... but anyways, I did explain to her briefly on how my bajus will look like... ksian jua kn, tau lah mums...always wanting to know these things~
  • nikah attire - lace but simple baju kurung
  • berbedak - chiffon fashion moder, just plain at least bleh pakai lgi hehe
  • bersanding - fully songket
  • muleh 7 - lace (of which i bought on sale and was rather cheap inclusive with satin lining, and satin for the men as well...)
Cool eh? How I come up with the designs.. I basically read through lots and lots and lots of magazines, and surfed through the internet...

the collar design is suitable for baju berbedak with our traditional Brunei attire, although I think the hand shouldn't be THAT lebar..

this fashion is suitable for nikah and even sanding for reception OR ambil2an

I personally like this one.. simple saja and nice... should've made this design sja haritu and plaay with the accessories to make the nikah attire seems grand.. but *sigh* nevermind... kamu saja yg blum buat ah~

I like this blue dress as well, if the collar is cheong-sam like..bleh jdi my bju berbedak ni! *lol*

You all may look at these sites as well : Amy Bridal, Rinsuzanna Collection and Butik Man Kajang (arah gallery - wedding fashion) Laawaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! Cnfirm plg rambang mata meliat... I know I was~ *lol*

As for MEN, siuk bah dorang ani.. they can either go for Songket Baju Melayu or those one yg with outside coat atu. Main attraction would be HOW THE SINJANG kna ikat and HOW the DASTAR kna lipat, takes a lot of 'seni' / creativity for that.

I do noticed that there are varieties of designs being used by the Grooms..yth mesti padan dgn shape muka apa jua tu. Not forgetting the Keris, Brooches for the Dastar AND other accessories.. (my dear fiancé pun I adviced pasal certain lipatan Dastar designs.. unless padan dgn mukanya lh, we'll have to wait till our baju sanding fitting session nanti.. insya-Allah, end of June ;) )

I know my mum tau plang cana melipat dastar ani cos she's done it so many tymes with my cousins tpi nada gambar.. tau lah, zaman kiteorg kecil2 dlu~ But do have a look through to all the gmbr pengantin arh our photogs webbie.. macam2! Or if ada gmbr2 dlm Dirgahayu.. mcm2 tu Dastar our Cheterias and ofcourse, I like His Majesty's ones. Soooo... what's the word, REGAL!

Creative jua orang Melayu ani ah~ It's amazing how they can have such creativities atu bh... until nxt time dearies~

moving out!

Tiring day 2day... I totally emptied up my room and I meeaaaaan.. EMPTY!!

The work started around 10a.m this morning after breakfast with Dad, Mum was out for a choir practice (yes, me mum's sing! *thumbsup*).. talked abt how I'm gonna empty up my room. Didn't expect that I'm gonna finished it up by 6p.m this evening.. banyak junkies eh! Think I should grab a pix of my room so that nanti i can actually get to show u peeps the before and after pix... nanti lah after the whole renovation is done...

Dad was like.. kan lagi banyak jua brg2 dlm bilik mu ani?!?! Au yatahtubah.... 3 rooms punya junkies cramped in 1, so you guys could imagine! *lol* Found some magazines that I stacked under my bed, sempat jua looking through them all.. especially the kahwin2 section, just to look for varieties of hantaran designs and noticeably, both sides bh membagi sireh junjung ani (fyi, Malaysians mag ne ah) ... ythh got me confuse sikit but yg i observe here in Brunei, Men saja bagi.. guess different folks different practice eh?

So yeah, the Sireh Junjong...

It's actually Sireh (Betel Nut Leaves) decorated in such a way so that it looks grand and as how we'd say it, THE MOST! In the olden days, the dauh sireh is actually serve to houseguests (kira macam nowadays tani tea/coffee lh tu) In a way, it's like pembuka kata everytime tani visit our family/relatives/friends. The Sireh too has a very good significance with weddings, especially us Malays. Sireh, when munch with kapur & pinang (reminds me of the song mum used to sing, sekapor sirih seulas pinang) ada this bitter, sweet, sour & salty taste hence this resembles the life we're about to face when we're married. Ada logika jua lh ah... nda? That's why org Brunei (pihak laki) make Sireh Junjung as kepala Hantaran. Not only that it respectfully says, 'let's talk marriage...' (pembuka mulut)..but it also has an association with the lady-to-be-wed... purity of a bride (if u know what I mean).

The Betel Nut leaves are important symbol for us women. Kata the old folks, if dulu2.. should it be discovered after the wedding that a bride is in fact not a virgin, the sirih is overturned. The marriage itself was often declared invalid through such an act. That's how important honour is in the olden days... nowadays? I let you all ponder on that one.... ;)

But anyways, since nowadays nda lagi berapa byk orang suka munching on sirih & pinang ... what other uses can we do with the betel leaves after kna buat sireh junjung as hantaran? Well, here's a tip for all bride-to-bes out there.. even married women ;) Some 10 to 20 leaves are brought to a short boil. The water is then left to cool down. This water can then be used to simply wash the female genitals (works like a charm for 'reinstatement') However, more effective is to have the water in a small basin, and then to sit inside for 15 to 30 minutes...

I'm sure this is amalan orang dlu2.. but who knows it might work kan...? Mesti jdikan amalan lh baru th tau~ The leaf itself pun resembles the female vajayjay... hehehe ok, too much info there.. till nxt tym peeps.. gd night!
