just a little update...

Assalamualaikum all~

When talking about themes, yeah well- I believe I have put majority of the 'favourites' on this site. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to date.. I have not seen any changes in wedding designs and themes. Nothing much we can do with Songket and Laces, perhaps? Maybe so. I have seen people's creativity in wanting, shall I say, 'unique' wedding cakes but mostly ofcourse preferred white and a mix with a another colour. Hantaran decos are still the ones with those white trays, silver boxes, small cages and lapiks... referring to Brunei only yeah~

Cranky? No.. I'm just voicing out my opinions. I'm guessing, nowadays.. hantaran deco boutiques need to go not just 'outside the box' but most IMPORTANTLY, ALL the TO-BE-WEDs to simply go beyond your wildest imagination! Provided ofcourse, charges for the service is ..'berpatutan' .

One guy really impressed me with his works, well... it's a start lah ah, I've been meaning to search for his blog and FB and now, baru tah saya terjumpa. Though I am not so sure whether he does it on his own or a family business. I'm sorry... hehe but you may find his blog link on the right, D'Crystal Crown ..... Honestly, I love the heel shown in this advert... very bridal like don'tcha think? I actually grabbed the pic from ranoadidas.com (yes, yes guilty ol' me..) but one can only admire the heel soooo much!! I really need to drop by to the place one day~ Watchout ShoeLovers, I see a competition now...

Another competition I see in town would be... Firoz Jaya and YMRM, with the opening of the new Firoz Jaya Textile Palace in Kg. Delima.. I'd say, the laces are quite a *thumbsup* but ofcourse nothing beats the idea of shopping for laces at Gulati's, Euro Moda, Jakel or someplace else like.. ermmm, Dubai or Bandung, Indonesia! *sigh* The idea made me feel like I wanted to get one myself... I'm thinking peach?? Maybe.. just maybe~

Anyhoots, as I was surfing through the Net, I've found something informative to share with you ladies... have a go and read this...

Assalamualaikum all...

As expected yes, I have been neglected this blog since hmmm November? Mood cuti.. Bercuti aannnd semuanya cuti! And what a holiday it has been.... Hoping for a blissful year 1432 Hijriah and 2011 that holds sooo many interesting adventures, up and downs for some and ofcourse, the awaited weddings on 11.1.11, 1.11.11, 11.11.11 and not forgetting 20.11.2011. But then again, those are all just dates right? Masani, mostly orang tunggu availabilities of halls saja. Hehehe, ah well.. I know little on the trend these days. It's time to get back to my feet! *yes!*

To add, this upcoming Chinese New Year will be the Year of the Rabbit, and like all rodents.. they reproduce fast! So.. will there be an extra boost in our population this year? Especially with the increase in maternity leave from 56 days to 105 days~ *gasp* And iskiness too, who knows this could be my year (YE20 and Miss83 as well~) Do'a and usaha *insya-Allah*

Yohjah : congratulations in advance from all of us in here. Do update us from time to time yeah... it has been awhile... Lamaaaaa dah nda betukar story!

As for me? Well- my job has been keeping me very the hectic since early 2010. Asal balik rumah confirm ngalih, all I did was just laaaazzeee around, watch t.v.. and perkara2 yang berkaitan dengannya... Last December had an urut session with a bidan, kena usai2 jualah peranakan ani.. slight pain but I'm taking it positively, at least I know everything's OK now :) Alhamdulillah

WISHLIST this year, is to launch a 'branch'-ing blog.. something to add the spice up ;) I just need to get all the layout and plans ready.. *hopes for the very best*

To all my bride-to-bes, brides, mum-to-bes and others (too much to mention), I would like to ask for an apology for 1431H /2010 have been a slow year for this blog and if ada salah and silap in some of my facts or kata2 harap dimaafkan. May 1432H / 2011 be a success to all of us insya-Allah~

Assalamualaikum dear,

Akhir nya, with my willingness, I would like to share a family experiences semasa wedding events of mine and my youngest sister. Now, I am a mother of 2 and 1 is coming on the way early next year hehehe... Insya-Allah

Cerita-cerita pasal tukang mekap or mak andam ani... siapa2 yang really2 innocent atu and nada guide from others.. banar tah kalau nama nya nda tau apa2.. banar inda tau apa2... sampai time kan kawin, pun nda tau apa2. I got married semasa sibuk2 Y2K (end of 1999). As my family ni banyak boys (7 boys and 2 girls only) my mum mana jua banyak experiencesnya ah kan buat preparation perkahwinan for the girls in the family. Abang-abang yg sudah kawin apa jua payah nya menguruskan. Jadinya harap2 minta2 pendapat from babu2 kitaorang lah yang bagi2 ideas on siapa mak andam, siapa usai bilik tidor and etc... etc...

Dipendekkan ceritalah ah... ;)... masa my wedding events atu, until the day of my Nikah event... I mean beberapa jam lagi kan nikah, baru tah pernah bersua muka dgn si Mak Andam ani... nama Hjh 'X'. Mum said, she is the best and even my auntie2 ani pun cakap the best coz related to us lah Hjh 'X' ani. As an innocent young girl, so me lapas tangan lah... sal nya frankly speaking, inda ku tau banar-banar pasal mekap ani. Banar tah... mun harapkan bebadak pakai powder pakah atu saja ahh... so Hjh 'X', she cukur2 kening and do lah the basic things Mak Andam should do. Until the tahap she was done with my makeup atu, and mau usai rambut and veil (dulu2 time nikah jarang org pakai tudong, karang ani nikah famous betudong). Tekejut beruk... OR tekejuk gorrila when I saw my face... oooo.... mannnn.... my makeups atu 1980's punya makeups.... time ku nikah my makeups semua warna garang2 babe... alamakkkkk... red lips, blusher pun tarang berabis, very dark eyebrow colour mcm eyebrow indian ladies... if you guys yg baca my story ani ah.. cuba u guys bayangkan or if you guys pernah teclick meliat movie malaysia 1980's... mekapnya tarang and jalak2 berabis... ah catu lah mekap ku time ku kawin.... very frustrated with my makeups, tapi nda berani bunyi2 coz mana jua kan minta tolong time tu... semua innocent2 berabis. So diteruskan tah jua the Nikah ceremony atu... and mengakun ku, gambar Nikah ku nda ku pernah show rah kawan2... betapuk dalam almari baju. Why??? sebab banci ku meliat gambar ku nikah, with the makeups mcm atu. Hjh 'X' still membuat Mak Andam service till now and heheheh she is very style lama. Walau pun family related but nda ku merecommend kedia ni to my friends and colleague di pejabat. Sal outcome memang tak sesuai.

The moral of the story daripada my experiences ani... 8 to 6 months lagi kan nikah/kawin, mencari tah Mak Andam yg bisai2, do lots of research, jgn takut buat makeup trial. Walau pun terpaksa berbelanja duit. I know amount $50 atu banyak. But kalau di compare krg outcome nya kemudian hari semasa wedding events. Insya-Allah berbaloi tu. Karang ani banyak references such ah majalah Pengantin, internet infos, etc. Masa ni I also found out, ada Mak Andam yang canggih2 tu offer makeup classes lagi. Siyuk usulnya, dulu2 time zaman-zaman ku muda2 dulu... mana ada ni. Bride2Be zaman ani very lucky berabis. Which is very good kalau diliat dari segi berbagai sudut ia punya perspektif. Satu, you will paham apa Mak Andam tu kan buat, because you yourself tau. Kedua... jgn tertipu hehehehe... pasal you also know yourself kannnnnn... mentang2 nda tau pasal mekap, kana buat mekap sesuka-suka hati.

The other story yang I want to share is my little sister punya wedding events. Baru setahun jagung berkahwin. Because only kami dua saja the girls in the family. Jadinya me as the one yg sudah ada pengalaman berkahwin, so I guide her a lot. Kami nda mau sejarah lama berulang kembali. Coz it's really hurting my feelings hehehe.... anyhow, we booked this Mak Andam, Hjh 'XYZ'. She is terkenal canggih and lawa mekapkan org kawin. Jadinya of courselah kami dgn sepenuh hati confident dgn kedia ani. Disamping atu, leh kerana si Hjh 'XYZ' ani famous hantap, nda kami belurih membooking kedia for all the four events my sis ani. Jadinya we booked other Mak Andam also Miss 'A' and also Miss 'B'. Jadinya tiga Mak Andam lah for the four events. Miss 'A' ani Mak Andam baru jualah because she admit she baru jua mengandam. Miss 'B' is also famous lah dgn makeup worknya jua kira sudah dikenali ramai. Jadinya of courselah mcm Hjh 'XYZ', kami pun bagi kepercayaan pernuh dgn Miss 'B' ani. We only do one makeup trial dgn Miss 'A' tapi outcome... banar2 kami satisfied berabis.. Alhamdulillah, lawa makeup style nya atu. Jatuh cinta tarus bakal laki sister ku ani. Sal sweets berabis.

Dipendekkan cerita, esuknya my sister ni kan nikah, we keep on contacting Hjh 'XYZ' ani, di msg2 nada jua respond nya. Salnya kami sudah beuri, esuk the nikah event, kan mau bagi alamat. Last2 ditunggu2 nada respond, kami telipun, payah2 kan ditelipun banar inda bejawab. By late afternoon, baru tah dapat kami called... sungguh menghampakan jawapan nya... guess what... ia cakap ia inda dapat mekapkan for the nikah event coz ia sibuk and kana double booked... boleh kah catuuu?????? A famous mak andam, but acting unprofessionally, walau pun kan cari duit eh.. nda kan last2 minute esuk org kan kawin baru tah dibagi tau inda dapat mekapkan. Kan hampir pengsan usulnya my sister. Mana kan cari Mak Andam yg steady2 time last-last minute ani, nikah event not event 24 hrs to go... tekakai-kakai kami menelefon kawan2... minta tolong carikan other Mak Andam. Dalam tangisan sedih kana buat catu tepaksa kami kuatkan semangat. Mom and Dad inda tau.. kalau durang tau lagi tia hot jadinya... malas kan membaratkan hati durang, org tua-tua. so kami2 saja menguruskan perkara ani. Oleh kerana nada harapan, Mak Andam Miss 'A' and 'B' pun nda jua belaku sal durang pun sudah kana booked for that day. We cuba contact this Mak Andam Miss 'C'. Luckily ia free inda kana booked. She is kinda of famous also, org cakap mekapnya lawa. So tawakkal we booked her tarus coz we got no other choice.

On the Nikah event, Mak Andam Miss 'C'.... do her makeup work. Unfortunately indah khabar dari rupa. Sama cerita mcm my nikah experience also. My sister punya muka, dari sweet girl looked berubah berabis. Heavy face structures. Cana kan tuuuu... mekap style apa kan tuuu... liat dari dakat atas hidung jalak2 garis badak nya, too many blink2, etc.... Rasa jua kan mancung kan hidung pengantin nda kan catu mekapnya, walau pun hidung nda steady mancung nya. Miss 'C' cakap Indon style makeup... yatah karang... Sadang2 deh... bagi ku beauty ani di enhance bah bukan di ubah jadi lain. All her nikah pic... turned out disaster, photographer pun complained they have to do banyak editing, which is true sebab when we saw the softcopy pics, semua bida mekapnya. Even this photographer cakap rah kami, that Mak Andam Miss 'C' don't do good makeups.

Anyhow, Alhamdulillah, through out all the other events time mlm berbedak, bersanding and also mlm berambil-ambilan... we got no problem. Semua bejalan lancar, Mak Andam 'A' and 'B' have done their job excellently. Salute to them... ;)

Moral of the story... selidik2 dulu Mak Andam yang bakal kamu booking. Walau tia famous ahhh... kadang2 indah khabar dari rupa. Tapi walau pun mcm atu, I do envy and salute Mak Andam yang banar2 bisai membuat mekap org kawin, ikhlas membuatkan org lawa dan berseri2 di hari perkahwinan. Mak Andam Hjh 'XYZ' nada ku recommend eh, berjanji inda belurus. Mak Andam 'C' kalau boleh tah, perbaiki lagi makeup skills ah. Bukan kan offending but kenyataan.

Atulah saja experiences yg I wanted to share. Mudahan dapat dijadikan sebagai pengajaran to all. Walau pun mcm atu, not all Mak Andam is BAD and not all Mak Andam is SUPER GOOD but of course the GOOD ones atu they do exist. Do investigate and research before banar2 kan booking mak andam. Buat plan B by listing nama2 Mak Andam and HP numbersnya sekiranya ada kecemasan. All the best to all future Bride2Be...
