Assalamualaikum all...

Alhamdulillah, I FINALLY got the chance to write up an entry (or two) :) Juggling life between wife, mother, daughter and student is  pretty challenging, semoga dipermudahkan segalanya *Amin*

A happy new year 2016 to all my dearest readers / followers / anyone in between. A new year always come with a new year's revolution. What are yours? Mine is insya-Allah to build up a hobby based on what I happened to loooooove most! Well - this blog la! Need to be more rajin with filling in my entries.

Inda terasa right? Now it's coming to the middle of the month and I haven't update you guys on our "Mission I-M-Possible!"

The two days events ran smoothly, Alhamdulillah, as I said earlier, niat baik kalau Allah restui, insya-Allah akan dipermudahkan. It was a very hectic weekend for all commitee members. All juggling between work and planning then execution. Kinda miss the commotion though *lol* but yes, this shows that it is definitely possible to plan a wedding in one month!!! ONE MONTH!! I am still not fully recovered from the frenzy.

So here's the vendor list :

Mission I-M-possible !!!

Assalamualaikum ladies (and gents? eheh I believe there are male readers as well..kan?)

IT HAS BEEN ....... 4 YEARS?! Mengalahkan maternity leave my blog ani! *haha* I was reading through all my stories, and well-yeah it brings back the good 'ol memories I shared with Mr.A when we plan for our wedding.

Now, what made me do that? you may ask... 

I was actually looking for my checklist as we are now (in the family) planning a wedding for my cousin. And guess what??? It's next month.... I repeat, NEXT MONTH!!! Now, one would've thought it is an impossible task.. I mean, less than a month? Seriously?? Adakah segala MuA, catering, pelamins etc mau menerima ni at such last minute... especially tah if you want to hold the wedding dalam dewan??! No, I'm not complaining here... in fact, I am more than excited cos you see.. I get to update this blog!!!Aaaaaand too make it interesting, I get to check out bridal boutiques for pelamins!! *grins* 

So, here's the story...

Last Sunday was THE day our elderly had a family meeting to confirm the dates for my cousin's wedding. No, there was nothing fishy going on.. my aunt and cousin just simply want to do everything by end of 2016 (2016 bucket list perhaps?). Now, the mission is to plan a wedding that is simple yet elegant and not costly but have everything in it. 2 days, 3 events.. nikah at the mosque and berbedak and sanding in the hall.

Mission I-M-possible officially commenced! I'm soooooooo excited!!! Oh by the way, this weekend ada wedding showcase at RBRC. I will definitely drop by and have a looksie, and perhaps book!

Mother's Day and more... :D

First and foremost,

WISHING ALL MOTHER'S OUT THERE and MOTHER-TO-BEs a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.
Dearest MUM and MUM-IN-LAW (hehe first time ni~), I love you both no matter what! Both are special in their own ways and it feels good to be loved by you both. Insya-Allah, I will try to become a better daughter (everyone's not perfect) and will always pray for your good health and blessing from Allah S.W.T *Amin*

Secondly,

SELAMAT PENGANTIN BARU to all the couples who officially tied the knot last Friday and is having their Sanding today. But ofcourse, there will be cases where the Nikah is on Sunday as well (like ours hehehehe) Wishing everyone a happy blissful wedded life now and Hereafter. Insya-Allah.

Since everyone in the chatbox are hot up with the discussion of planning your wedding events, I just can't help but putting up the next article (though it was meant to be post up next week..) I'm like, nevermind, there's always something new everyday right?

PENGERTIAN WALIMATUL ‘ARUS

· Walimatul ‘arus ialah kenduri bagi meraikan atau merayakan pengantin baru.

· Walimah ialah jamuan agama (bukan jamuan adat kebiasaan) yang dibuat kerana Allah, bukan jamuan kebanggaan dan bukan sumber untuk mendapat keuntungan duniawi.

PENSYARI‘ATAN WALIMATUL ‘URUS

· Mengadakan majlis walimah adalah sangat digalakkan dalam Islam.

· Sabda Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam:

Maksudnya:
“’Abdul Rahman bin ‘Awf melakukan perkahwinan, maka Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam bersabda kepadanya: Hendaklah anda mengadakan walimah walaupun dengan seekor kambing.”
(Al-Hadith)

TUJUAN WALIMATUL ‘URUS

· Tujuan mengadakan walimah adalah untuk mengumumkan pernikahan di samping menggembirakan pengantin yang baru menjejaki jinjang pelamin dan ia juga sebagai tanda kegembiraan orang tua kerana mendapat menantu baru. Pengumuman yang sebaik-baiknya ialah majlis perkahwinan yang diadakan di masjid dan dipukul gendang dan rebana.

· Sabda Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam:

Maksudnya:
“Umumkanlah perkahwinan dan selenggarakanlah di masjid dan pukullah gendang dan rebana pada hari perkahwinan itu.” -(Riwayat Ahmad dan Tirmizi)

· Oleh yang demikian, dalam meraikan kegembiraan tersebut adalah penting bagi kita untuk membezakan antara adat dengan ibadat yang perlu dipatuhi. Tidak menjadi kesalahan kepada kita untuk mengikut adat resam sesebuah kaum asalkan adat itu tidak bertentangan dengan syara‘.

· Islam menggalakkan hiburan yang sederhana dan sopan dengan menggariskan beberapa syarat seperti berikut:

1. Tiada pergaulan bebas antara lelaki dengan wanita yang bukan mahram.

2. Nyanyian dan muzik yang tidak menimbulkan nafsu.

3. Tidak melalaikan ingatan dan kewajipan terhadap Allah subhanahu wata‘ala.

4. Senikata nyanyian tidak mengandungi perkataan-perkataan yang cabul atau tidak sopan.

HUKUM MENGADAKANNYA

Hukum mengadakan kenduri kahwin ini adalah sunat muakkad (sangat dituntut) sebagaimana sabda Rasulullah s.a.w yang bermaksud:

"Kata Nabi s.a.w. kepada Abdul Rahman bin Auf sewaktu beliau berkahwin, hendaklah kamu mengadakan kenduri kahwin sekalipun hanya menyembelih seekor kambing".

HUKUM MENGHADIRINYA

Menerima jemputan ke majlis perkahwinan adalah wajib terhadap setiap orang yang dijemput kecuali ada sesuatu keuzuran. Tidak dapat menghadirinya disebabkan sakit atau sebagainya, sebagaimana sabda Rasulullah s.a.w. yang bermaksud:

"Apabila kamu dijemput untuk menghadiri majlis kenduri kahwin, hendaklah kamu menghadirinya". (Riwayat Bukhari dan Muslim)

SYARAT WAJIB KE MAJLIS KENDURI KAHWIN APABILA DI UNDANG

i) Yang dijemput itu bukan khusus kepada orang yang kaya sahaja.

ii) Didalam majlis tersebut, tidak ada seorang pun terdiri dari musuhnya.

iii) Didalam majlis itu, tidak ada perkara yang mungkar dan maksiat seperti arak, judi dan joget.

iv) Tiada bercampur gaul didalam majlis itu dengan perempuan-perempuan yang bukan mahramnya.

v) Tiada bersamaan atau bertembung dalam majlis tersebut dengan tetamu yang bukan Islam.

vi) Peralatan makan dan minum tidak daripada barang yang diharamkan seperti emas, perak dan sutera.

vii) Tidak diketahui akan wang perbelanjaan itu dari yang haram.

viii) Jika dijemput datang pada majlis walimah tersebut selama 2 hari berturut-turut, maka hanya wajib datang 1 hari sahaja.

ix) Yang menjemput itu dan yang dijemput itu adalah beragama Islam.

To summarize the text above, when you plan your wedding. Do plan it wisely. Meaning to say, there's alot of things we need to consider for our wedding religiously, economically, families and even our own self-righteous. A month plus has passed, and only 8 days till we celebrate hari raya. This will be my first year celebrating the Eid with my husband...and I hope mudah-mudahan ibadah us all in this holy month of Ramadhan is fully blessed by Allah S.W.T.

I've been meaning to have a sungkai out with the hubby (yes, just the 2 of us..but then sampai now nda kesampaian.. we have other important things to do *sob*) Inda apa, there's always next time.

Sanding..

Salam all...

Today will be the last of my 4 events, it's Muleh 7 Hari.. nervous? yes. anxious? yes. What more can you ask.. bet this is how my husband felt last week.

 

Last week was the Sanding Ceremony... a good turn up amongst my friends and relatives. And man, was I sleepy! Today better sikit, last week can only sleep soundly around 2.30a.m and then I hav to wake up around 6.30a.m. Get myself ready before my M.u.A's arrival which was around 9.00a.m. Hubby didn't text me at all that morning.. I would xpect so cos ia pun ada Majlis Berbedak pagi2 atu. But alhamdulillah, his arrival was on schedule... rombongannya saja late sikit. 

MuA did a fine job with the make-up... no wait, a GREAT job~ and I finished on schedule...*Alhamdulillah* Though had to get help with sis to put on the corset (andang design of the baju). I sooooo loooove the baju banar2!! Rasanya kan dibuy so that orng inda pakai lgi but wth, kan di apa jua simpan? Jadi ristaan saja jua tu behabuk dlm almari. Baju lain tu bleh laa... besides, WE'RE THE FIRST to wear that baju kan? The songket yg hard to find arh other boutiques ah *lol* (masa atu plg tu.. dont knw masa ani) Everyone's comment : You guys managed to pull it off!! Jarang org dpt wear that colour and looks gorgeous in it! (Hmm, wallahuwa'lam~ to me, each baju pengantin is stunning in their own ways..)

It's already 7:19a.m and I need to shower before anything... time of departure from my place would be 11:00a.m. .... nervous again? YES!!!!!!!!

Berbedak...

Salam all...

Back then, I always question myself.. mengapa kna buat Majlis Berbedak for a wedding function? I know some would say... 'Andangnya sudah mesti ada...mau jua kn pakai pakaian Brunei kan...?' but is it really what we need? So I question myself... why did I do it? Truthfuly speaking.. I once talked to my parents of not wanting the ceremony to be held (constrained budget).. and they were like 'eh baik jua, dorg adi-beradi mu ya juanya...' 

As a true Tutong folk, actually kami nda necessary memakai pakaian Brunei (all the ayam-ayam, naga and the likes).. but then again, I do have a little bit of Brunei-Muara blood in me.. (Mulah Nini Bini frm Dad's side) Kali Mum tanya, "Ko pakai pakaian Brunei kh nda ni? Kaka mu dlu pakai jua"  and my Sis was like... "Dang... pakai saja tia! bila jua masanya lgi~"   Sekalinya, "pakai eh.. sayang jua~" :D Rented out my pakaian Brunei from Myzura Bridal Gallery @ Kiulap, 1st floor above the photo shop yg sebaris AV Electronics, Virgo Boutique.. etc. Based on my surveys last time.. most bridal boutiques rented out the pakaian Brunei @ the same price..hence, cari saja mana yg available 1 set atu..~ For my little fruities yg nda tau pasal pakaian ani.. they were like "Waaahh lawa jua, tpi knapa pakai atu? Knapa crownnya lain??" Haha kids nowadays~

Back to why we do berbedak ceremonies... in the olden days (as told by Dad), yg membadaki ani bukan orang calang-calang... normally it'll b the Elderly relatives. In a way, to me, it's one way  to have them gather round and bestow us, the Pengantins, their blessings..besertakan do'a from all lah tu ah. Some families still do the Adat Meng-aga-i (i.e groom's family ke rumah the Bride and vice versa)...of which, we don't practice and I dare not comment anything regarding that matter... that for sure is a lengthy one, sudah th family diri, family 'dangan' lagi.. fuuuhh!! Kul 11 a.m kli? I guess that's why nowadays jrg lgi dipractice by some.. and the fact that the berbedak function is mostly done on the same day of the Bersanding / Nikah hehe~

p/s : Sisters think we may need to supply face masks since the haze is getting worst *winks*... additional doorgifts?... you'll just have to wait and see~

Had an emotional moment with aunty Hjh, turned out that she and our (me and hubby's) mums were friends back in the olden days. Zaman bujang2 dlu.. and especially mum-in-law, kawannya zaman sekolah~ I was fighting hard to hold back my tears when I see the shine in aunty Hjh's eyes when she found out about who our parents were. *sigh* Mum was pretty busy the day I fetched the Hantarans, else memang ... *speechless*sigh* nanti tah Ma ahhh..

Anyways, I remember telling you lots yesterday that I was gonna bake lasagna... well, quite unfortunate plang~ Else nyaman dh parut the hubby makan my lasagna~ The story was, intinya siap dh bebuat with the sauce and all..skali as I was about to heat up the oven sambil2 KAN do all the layerings~~ Apanah? The power trip *AGAIN!!!* (refer to my entry time tunang) hehe selalu th jua cematu atu kn.. just like earlier this year, coincidence?? *Alhamdulillah* sekalinya me and the maid check the power box.. switch it on semula, switch on the oven lagi.. triiiipppp lagi! On lagi semula.. switch on the oven.. trip lagi~ *sigh* By then I know, something is definitely wrong with the oven.. Soooo cancel tia baking lasagna~ Kali nda lama lapas atu, my nini datang kn memandikan me~ So yeah...~ Lagipun kan...if add lasagna jdi 16 dulangs tia kn? But wait... OMG!!! I just remembered, I added chocolates lgi? Genap jua masih no.nya tuuu... *sshhhhh* Ndapalh...janji Majlis Nikah yesterday selesai dengan sempurna and YES, SEKALI LAFAZ !!!*Alhamdulillah*

To my Sayang... nanti2 tah I bake for you the lasagna yea~~ *winks*

For now, my family and I still need to arrange the gifts for guests yg membadaki as well as the Dzikir ladies. :D (semua masuk Living Room tu nanti..), fixing of tents for Berbedak and Sanding reception, fetch accessories pakaian Brunei and baju Sanding... prepare makanan for orang dtg bedudun starting Friday, Saturday and Sunday a.m., make sure my MuA (for berbedak) arrive on time, the lanterns for decorations fixed, the berbedak tray and pelamin Basuh Kaki sampai complete with all the accessories ... insya-Allah~ Mudah-mudahan semua berjalan dengan lancar... AMMIIINNNNN

4 weeks & 2 days.... *heartbeats*

Yet another successful Friday *yay* I was thankful though I had to actually cancel my morning appointment for a reason. Managed to pass some of my invitation cards to my dear Uni junior (she'll pass on to the rest of the gals & guys lagi), they've always been there for me and this is my only way to thank them all.... :) Thank you all~ Datang ah to my wedding!

I'm sure this may come to a shock for some of them... yes, ME, getting married!!! Everyone's happy for me though... Alhamdulillah~ I remember few months ago when one of them asked me...

J : "Eh lai, let me see your hand!"

Me : *blur and show her my hands*

L : "Nah see cincin ah.... betunang ko udah kh???"

Me : Hehehe... apa sulnya??

J : "Eeee banar kh nda c banar ani... mua mu ani payah sikit kn pecaya.. mun banar ALHAMDULILLAH!!!"

L : "Au eh.. ko selalu kai cincin arh kelingking saja.. jrg arh jari manis"

Back to the preps.. had a trial with the M.U.A last Tuesday. Phewww.. ilang nervoooouuuusss! Haha we only did the trial for nikah, the rest? Samples of shadow colours saja~ Lawa!! Dear fiancé kononnya kn meliat the finished make-up work arh LIVE webcam tapi ntah knapakh MSN beproblem msatu... ya suruh liat time Nikah saja tu sayang, dapan2 lgi best tau.. But I snapped a few shots so I just showed him the pics saja and really glad that he loves them as well... Alhamdulillah~

Another good news would be, the Sanding attire. Decided to drop by at the bridal boutique this p.m and what do u know?? The baju is ready for fitting *waaaaaahhh!!!* APA lagiiiii?!?! Had our fitting lah tadi.. simply gorgeous!!! A slight alteration and the dress will be good for next month *thumbsup* Dear fiancé is abit cautious with his attire.. nampak mcm ia damit or so he claimed. Maybe the coat atu abit big kli? Tpi masa him fitting tadi.. ok jua usulnya~ I'd say his Dastar plang yg make him look small atu.. krg th liat the pics lgi. Iski our tailor trus..siap ambil camera and gambar2 lgi *lol* funny bunch dorg atu! Next fitting session will be end of this month (moment of truth tuuu...! OMG) I have chosen the set of tiaras that matches with my baju sanding..but I have yet to reconfirm the rental for my tiara sets utk nikah and muleh 7 as well as the Traditional Bebadak accessories set..

I have forwarded my leave application yesterday. Mesti kna approve tu.. nda bleh nda!! I'll go on strike if they don't sign the form!! Aisey mcm berani saja *lol* But insya-Allah, they sign tu... *Amin*

More things to do would be :

1. Confirm house decorations
2. To decide either to custom-made/rent tudong for Nikah and Muleh 7
3. get the final items for my balasan hantarans
   
4. Move the rest of my stuffs back into my room
5. Give my cat his well-deserved grooming session
6. Distribute my invitation cards (for office) by mid of this month
7. send over my balasans for deco
   
8. Empty out the living room
9. Spring cleaning the whooooooooleeee house!
10. try to concentrate with my office work
11. get my car road tax and insurance re-newed, and..
12. get enough rest daily!

Until the next entry~ Another looooooooooonngg day at work tomorrow *sigh* Think i should add #13 - concentrate with office works *angelface* Hahaha..!! Oh yes, final update!!! My curtains and bedsheet siap already~ It will be fixed this 20.07 (cuti Isra' Mekraj) .. Insya-Allah~ ..haaa~ now I can say, Until the next entry ppl..!! *hugs*
